Danglo Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Should he be captain? Should he even be in the team when he's fit? I've seen glimpses of quality, but he also frustrates me with his constant lack of drive. Curious as to peoples thoughts

I've seen glimpses of quality, but he also frustrates me with his constant lack of drive. Curious as to peoples thoughts Personally I would leave Oakley as captain and have Clemence on the bench if we're playing 4-4-2 in a 3-5-2 again I'd leave Oakley as captain but I'd have Clemence as the midfield anchor allowing cover for Oakley and Hendrie (this season, King/new signing next) to bomb forward
Father Ted Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Should he be captain?Should he even be in the team when he's fit? I've seen glimpses of quality, but he also frustrates me with his constant lack of drive. Curious as to peoples thoughts Should he be captain? - NO Should he even be in the team when he's fit? - NO - I would even have Weso ahead of him on the bench I've seen glimpses of quality, but he also frustrates me with his constant lack of drive. - I've not seen any quality Curious as to peoples thoughts - If every can see the truth then it will be the same as my answers.
RowlattsFox Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 I don't think he's as bad as everyone makes out but Oakley and Hendrie have done well so they should continue, the only problem i see with that is that we will have to play someone out of position on the left unless we recall Laczko to the side, which doesn't look likely at the moment. Clemence hasn't been good but I think he has been made scapegoat a little for our poor season.
ASH17LCFC Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Should he be captain? - No he doesn't derserve to be Captain. Should he even be in the team when he's fit? - No, his performance this season have been poor and he's one of the main reasons we are in this mess. I've seen glimpses of quality, but he also frustrates me with his constant lack of drive - He's played well against Norwich .... Anymore ?
Joe. Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 At the moment, no he shouldn't be captain but only because he doesn't warrant a first team place at the moment. Ollie would be a fool to put him in the first team with how Oakley and Hendrie seem to be getting on currently.

Do you think all 3 of them could play in the middle though ? Clemence and Oakley in the middle and Hendrie pushing up.
lildave3 Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 I have to say I was very impressed with Oakley on Saturday, to me it looked a real skippers performance. But leave the captaincy be until the end of the season. He still needs to fight to get back in the team though.
Staf Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 I dont see why he should come straight back into the team just because he is captain leave Oakley capain and but Clemence on the bench.
Koke Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 All 3 can actually play as Hendrie can play on the wing but I'd rather keep things as they are now, which means Clemence should take a place on the bench when he's fit.

I think you should change your sig mate because Hendrie has been awesome since he has come and i would rather have him than Scott Sinclair anyway to be honest
Koke Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 I think you should change your sig mate because Hendrie has been awesome since he has come and i would rather have him than Scott Sinclair anyway to be honest It's reverse psychology. I say he's shit, and he's proving me wrong. Good lad he is.

Thracian Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Oakley, Wesolowski, King, Hendrie, Clemence? With those five options I'm amazed we've decended into a relegation battle at all but, for me, we never need two of Oakley/Clemence/Wesolowski because they are too similar in what they do or what they're likely to achieve. So, for me I'd start with one of those three and one of the other two and replace like for like unless I wanted two attackers in which case I'd have Hendrie and King. I can't ever conceive of needing two defensive midfielders. Not sure I wouldn't have Hendrie/King anyway. Both are combative enough and I'm sure their attacking prowess would sway me for the sort of side I'd want to field. But I doubt that will happen under Holloway so I'd stick with my original suggestion of one primarily attacking midfielder and one primarily defensive.

I totally agree with everything apart from the mention of Andy King. From what I had seen of him, he is still not quite ready yet. The only reason he was in the team before was because of injuries and even though he took his chance in the team it just wasn't quite enough but in a couple of years he will definitely be in and around the squad.
maddog Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Should he be captain?Should he even be in the team when he's fit? I've seen glimpses of quality, but he also frustrates me with his constant lack of drive. Curious as to peoples thoughts He should not be captain, he should not be in the team when he's fit, i even thing Weso and King should be ahead of him. I've seen hardly any quality and a lot of awful football, no leadership as a captain and no passion for Leicester City. If someone comes in with a nice offer in the summer we should sell.
sdb Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 great player at this level although he's yet to show it. i think selling him would be very silly - he's come into a pretty screwed up club. strip him of the captaincy, place him on the bench and his drive should return. if not, THEN he should go. lets not dismiss him asap.
Koke Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 The games King has played in the first team, he looked OK. No more than that though. Nothing special but did the job that was asked of him.
maddog Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Id say King was good in the games hes played in, and he scored that blinder of a goal. If King was a regular he would be as good as Hendrie and Oakley i think. Then we could look at a King, Hendrie, Oakley midfield with Clem and possibly Weso on the bench. It depends what tactics/formation we are playing really I can't even see Clemence as someone who would come off the bench and change a game. The best player we have for that is Barry Hayles!!!
dandannieldanok Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 All 3 can actually play as Hendrie can play on the wing but I'd rather keep things as they are now, which means Clemence should take a place on the bench when he's fit. That's a myth really, he is a very limited player there. I'm not doubting he's had a large clutch of appearances on the wing but he is only a central midfielder.
