Finnegan Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Have been consistently second best since 2000 in a league that's a two horse race. And, where are you from anyway?
Bert Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Yeah, that's a good point Finners, but, let's talk about this season.
Finnegan Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Yeah, that's a good point Finners, but, let's talk about this season. My point is that one elephant doesn't make a circus. I'm sure the blue half of Glasgow is pretty delighted with their progress this year but they're one of only two teams that are realistically going to ever win the SPL. They're going to win it occasionally. And correct me if I'm wrong, but are there not fourty-four games in the SPL season? Do they not have a looong way to go? I just don't get what you're celebrating here. Now don't get me wrong, I won't deny I've a mild bit of favour for Celtic over Rangers and that's probably something to do with the Welsh / anti-British bias in me. But I'd be getting just as shitty with any Leicester based Leicester fan getting all gobby about Celtic, too, I just don't get it. It's all politics at the end of the day isn't it?

Finnegan Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 How does that work? 12 teams, 11 other than yourself, you play 'em all four times don't you?

Kilworthfox Posted 29 March 2008 Author Posted 29 March 2008 How does that work? 12 teams, 11 other than yourself, you play 'em all four times don't you? playoff system splits top 6 & bottom 6
lildave3 Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 How does that work? 12 teams, 11 other than yourself, you play 'em all four times don't you? Play everyone 3 times, then the league is split into two halves, so the top 6 play each other and the bottom 6 play each other.

Yes you're right, it is all about politics, Catholic, Protestant and whatnot. Some other people do look out for certain teams results, and have perfectly good reasons too.
Father Ted Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Fail! Fail! I have to laugh with you on that one but I am Celtic through and through when it comes to the Scottish league because many of the players from my football team are Irish and support Celtic and force me into it

Kilworthfox Posted 29 March 2008 Author Posted 29 March 2008 Ha. Walter Smith?? Who's he? When he was with Everton he was just Poor!! Just shows the standards of the Scottish game What? Do some research then comment or you will look like a tool
Father Ted Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 What? Do some research then comment or you will look like a tool From Wiki Smith's time at the club was disappointing and he only managed three successive finishes in the bottom half of the table. The Everton board finally ran out of patience with Smith and he was sacked in March 2002 with Everton in real danger of relegation. What were you saying 'TOOL'? Oh, Also don't forget, Scotland's great rising star in the year 2004 - Stephen Hughes
