Guest Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 We still on? We are indeed. Although I have been called "stupid".
purpleronnie Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Everton were all over them it that game. Fiorentina were lucky it went to penalties. But they went out, I said rangers would win....anyway.......

lildave3 Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Quite enjoyed that first half tbh. Rangers do need to get more of the ball in midfield though, just passing them by atm.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 I hope Rangers get their comuppance in Italy.
lildave3 Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 I hope Rangers get their comuppance in Italy. Why?
SamL Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Not the worst result in the world for Rangers, shame they couldn't score though. Good result for Zenit St Petersburg as well.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Why? Because it is getting ridiculous now, setting out to draw 0-0 at home and effectively the same away from home, winning because the other team actually attacks when they're at home. Even Ally McCoist has come on now and openly admitted he is happy. It just frustrates me, the lack of entertainment is pathetic. It has worked for them well but I just can't see the appeal of it unless you are a fan of Rangers.

It's called winning through good tactics It is half time effectively but away goals are worth more than home ones if the game ends in a draw. Also Rangers were depleated tonight, so what do you expect? it was a good result for Rangers!
dandannieldanok Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Because they're winning! Nothing wrong with it, it's bringing success. It is yes but it just appalling to watch for the neutral that switches on expecting a UEFA Cup semi to provide some decent football. ITV should have put the Bayern-Zenit game on. I just can't see the appeal unless you are a hardcore Rangers fan, and even then I'd be desperately disappointed if I'd shelled out £20+ to sit and watch your team play for a goalless draw.
Simi Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Yet people abuse Chelsea for the boring football they play...

I'd be happy to see the home side try and score, even if it ends 0-0, I just find it hard to stomach them setting their stall out for that result. And the only reason the match was bearable to watch because there was at least one side trying to attack, playing fluent football in the process.
purpleronnie Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Goodresult for Rangers, its weird that the away goal rule came in to make away teams play more attacking football now home teams actually think 0-0 is a good result knowing a scoring draw will send them through. To me the away goal rule should end, going through by not winning either match is stupid. Rangers have been very good away from home.

Well I for one appreciate good tactics. And I didn't really see much 'fluent football' from Fiorentina tbh, and didn't create many chances did they?

You have no idea how good or bad the Zenit game was so what is your point exactly? Two goals 1-1 wow must have been an awesome game I found the game to be 6 or 7 out of 10 for entertainment personally. Not the greatest but far from being a bad game.
Uncle Albert Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Come on Rangers! If they can do it in Portugal they can certainly do it in Italy.
