dog_4 Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 a good pre season, left winger and striker will see us come good.
Koke Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 The people who want Ollie out can't name us one decent manager who would join us. Look out there. Bryan Robson, Iain Dowie ffs. The prospect of possibly hiring one of those knuckle heads if scaring the living day light out of me. And besides, I don't think we are a bad side. We do need some additions to the squad, but I do believe we have decent team now. Give the man the summer and pre-season and let him recruit some CB's + Wingers and I'm sure things will fall into place.
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 a good pre season, left winger and striker will see us come good. I'd go with that. IH needs also to bring in a decent LB, should Mattock leave, a CB who can pass and an authoritative midfield player. Should IH stay? Of course he should. He doesn't have a balanced squad from which to choose a team. Let him create his squad, build his squad, nuture his squad, motivate his squad, choose his squad - sorted. Get off the man's back. He'll come good. Pity some of the current players haven't.
Daggers Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 The people who want Ollie out can't name us one decent manager who would join us. Such the most salient point it should be repeated ad nauseam. Let's do it... The people who want Ollie out can't name us one decent manager who would join us. Now let's do it bigger... The people who want Ollie out can't name us one decent manager who would join us. I wonder if anyone is still in doubt? The people who want Ollie out can't name us one decent manager who would join us. Because, as sure as eggs are eggs, you are absolutely correct.
Daggers Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 The people who want Ollie out can't name us one decent manager... I think we need to add the caveat "who aren't twats"
Raj Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 I think we need to add the caveat "who aren't twats" YEAH! Oh....er...whats a caveat??? Ah fcuk it....Happy Birthday anyway!!!
Daggers Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Oh....er...whats a caveat??? Well - proper fans are waving them in the air this Saturday. Are you a proper fan? Are you? Have you got your caveat from the shop? My caveat has had a wash and is plumped and primed. Proper fan, me.

My caveat has had a wash and is plumped and primed. Proper fan, me. I aint got a caveat. Is it a cravat??/ Wait....wheres that fcuking dictionary... caveat-1 a: a warning enjoining one from certain acts or practices b: an explanation to prevent misinterpretation c: a modifying or cautionary detail to be considered when evaluating, interpreting, or doing something 2: a legal warning to a judicial officer to suspend a proceeding until the opposition has a hearing I still dont understand!!!!
Raj Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Has Bin Laden come out of his caveat last? No. Now goto sleep. I ahev to work now....BUY BYE ALL!!! Up the City!!!! :scarf:
Mickey O'Neil Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 We need to keep a manager for at least one full season.
Raj Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 We need to keep a manager for at least one full season. We do. Autumn
Narborough Bod Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 IMO he'll be gone if we go down. if he keeps us up, then give him until xmas to have us in the top half, ie able to challenge for the play offs or more come January. This will have given him a season to have shown some progression. If we are in the bottom half then no doubt the panic button will be pressed, we'll get a new manager during the transfer window and will get 832 loanees during this time. As for a replacement, I want to keep Holloway for the time being, but big Sam stands out by a mile as an ideal candidate. He could handle a club of our size, and he's corrupt, so he fits the bill perfectly.
Scow Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Can we have some stability for once? He's done a decent job in this division with QPR and Plymouth with very little money. My concern is that he's probably taken off more than he can chew with the resources he's had at his disposal thus far, however, what's the point in apponting an 8th managerial team in just over a year? You look at the players we've got and it's an absolute travesty we're down there in the relegation zone. Even if we go down, at least we have a manager who has a track record in achieving promotion in that league. I don't think anyone denies that Holloway has come up short since being here - I'd like to hope that once we have a settled outlook (providing we stay up) that we can rebuild and at least make some fuc king progression.

Yes.
Zingari Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 http://www.sportingo.com/football/a8084_wh...-leicester-bird When he took over at the Walkers Stadium in November, Leicester were sitting in 17th place, having made a disappointing start to the season. The new-manager effect kicked in straight away and Holloway won his first game in charge 2-0 against high-flying Bristol City. But it took another eight games before he recorded his second win. In fact, in the 28 games Holloway has been in charge, Leicester have won just seven. That actually equals Watford’s record remarkably, but I don’t want to talk about that now!
Jon the Hat Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Plymouth fans. Plymouth fans. Plymouth fans. Plymouth fans. Plymouth fans. Plymouth fans. Plymouth fans. Plymouth fans. We really don't want them back on here.
colbo68 Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I'm suprised the vote (currently) is for him to stay if we go down.Why-o-fecking why? What evidence is there he'll ever do any good? i must agree totally - Ollie's apparent popularity is based upon his image of a nice-guy and having his heart in the club. However, his record on the pitch is appalling and, as a season ticket holder I know that we have not improved under Ollie Ollie said.......'judge me when I have my own team' - well you do have your own team Ollie and we are judging you It is careless to 'like' a manager for his image and media relationship - it is more prudent to analyse whether the signings he has made have improved the side, and the tactics he uses turning a game in our favour - I am uninpressed on either of the latter
Mickey O'Neil Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Trouble is....who the feck is going to come here if Ollie gets the sack? There are bugger-all managers around at the moment. And don't say wait until the season ends 'cus there will be managers without clubs. We need some stability and continuity. We've gotta ride this a bit. I'm not saying keep him because he's a nice guy, I think he can do a job for us next year (& don't say that job is to take us down!!)
renards Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 1, He's the king of the one liners 2. He's got less hair than me 3, Uuur .........
Bluenose76 Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I think the question is for me is. "Can we afford to have total faith in a manager that took us down a league for the first time in our history" I don't know to be honest. Its not fair to say he wasn't given money at Plymouth, he was and they are known as an outpost which tends to give them a greater team spirit. I personally think that the players don't repsect him or his image. Fine for a small club like QPR or Plymouth but our club has big names and big personalities and maybe they don't like the joker image. I must admit I find it very un-professional and annoying. He is on the television aughing and joking whilst we are in crisis. Is that really the sort of manager we want? I know he is only here for the money but he coould at least show that he cares about us rather than losing his popular status. He is a very in-secure man. He needs to feel loved and to be honest I don't feel any love to a man that professes his own talents at every given opportunity and then displays some weird decisions when it comes to the playing side. Would we honestly miss him? I very doubt our collective mourning would last more than 24 hours would it?

If the current crop of players are so called 'big names/personalities' what did that make our team of 10 years ago? You can't be serious? Why is it that some of our fans choose the place the blame on IH when, after having successive managers, the playing side has neither had the determination nor will, on a consistent basis, to play good football, entertain the fans and look as if they want to win. IH has constantly set out his aims/aspirations for the team and time after time they let him down. As for the money side of things, surely you're talking about the players? £15k a week for serving up rubbish, I'll have some of that. As for the final point, yes he would be missed. When Allen left after a handful of games, did it last more than 24 hours? Yes it did.
