Father Ted Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Henderson 6 - Not much to do, 1 good save. Stearman 7 - Tried Kisnorbo 4.5 - HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFF!!! Bruno 5 - Didn't really get involved. Clapham 5.5 - Steady Bell 6 - Average. Hendrie 6.5 - Tried, not much went his way Oakley 6.5 - Won a lot of the 2nd balls. Hayles 6 - Determined. Howard 4 - Eeyore! Dj 5 - What was dumbass doing putting him on the wing? Subs:- Hume 6.5 - Really made an impact. Fryatt 3 - T*at Mcauley 5.5 - Start him upfront every game instead of Eeyore. Ollie - 0 Fans - 9
syston_fox Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Im not wasting my time on doing it for all of them but: Hayles - 7 - head down and ran at the opposition. Not the greatest skill wise but he'd hastle the opposition and get stuck in when he needed too. Presented with two chances - one offside because DJ touched it but he still took it wide of the keeper and passed it into the net from a tight angle and the other was the header which he put in the net. Wrongly flagged offside from what Ive heard. 2 chances and both ended in the net.Tried hard and gave his all. Howard - 1 - whats the point? DJ - 2 - Two great chances, twice hit straight at the keeper. Useless. Fryatt - 0- Best natural finisher at the club? He was woeful as he has been for ages. How many great chances has he missed for us now? Look at the one against Southampton and the ones today - how important could those extra three points be? And the thing that really pissed me off - he got in a great position and all he had to do was pass it across and it was an open goal for Hume or whoever to tap in.... what does he do? Cut inside and get it trapped under his feet. ball greedy tosser! Man running on pitch - 0 - twat!!! What good did that do except break up an attack we were putting together up the right hand side?
Koke Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Fair play to Iain Hume. For all his faults and his haters, he really had a big impact when he came on and he saved our arses.
Thracian Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Henderson 6 (One terrific save but hopelessly at fault for their goal. I know the six yard area was a quagmire but that cross was his responsibility, he should certainly have communicated and, yes, there was no excuse for Clapham letting their striker get goal side). Clapham 4.5 (Bit part game. At fault with his marking for the goal and struggling without a proper winger in tandem. But that said he just doesn't make anything happen. Our left side was virtually sterile. Kisnorbo 5 (Today summed the bloke up. He mostly defends okay but when he's in possession, either in open play or as a free-kick taker, you might as well close your eyes because the ball so rarely goes to one of our men. Bruno 6 (Steady enough) Stearman 7.5 (Tried everything Clapham didn't. Yes he made mistakes but he and Bell were always going to be our main source of a goal and finally the equalising cross came from their department. As for Colchester's winger he was never going to get a sniff). Hayles 6.25 (Great start. Glancing header and tap in disallowed and might have made another goal. Pity he's not got staying power). Oakley 5 (Never stamped any authority on the game. City were a midfielder light and it showed for an hour or so) Hendrie 7.5 (Like all our better players he made mistakes but didn't hide and was forever trying to fashion a breakthrough, rally the team and galvanise the fans) Bell 6.5 (Some good crosses which should have produced more and seemed to work well with Stearman). Howard 4.5 (His hold up play and lay-offs were all he had to offer and then only part time. He looked slow, lacking any sort of leap, posed no threat in the box and looked just like another Horsfield. Our team needs pace and movement not a carthorse). Campbell 6 (One early cross should have produced the goal to give us the lead but faded after his promising start which is understable after his time out). Subs Hume 8 (His goal may prove priceless to our club. He saved our season, perhaps only temporarily, but saved it nevertheless. How badly we needed his movement and scampering challenges) Fryatt 6 (Again, despite his missed chance, provided a new headache for Colchester whose defence might well have fallen apart had we started the second half with the forwards we finished with). McAuley 6 (Effective as the bull in the china shop. Provided a rare tactical plus mark for Holloway but you have to say it was right move/wrong time). --------------------
General lee Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Henderson 6 - Made about 1 save Stearman 6 - Too fooking fancy at times but tried. Kisnorbo 5 - Not alot to do but crap Bruno 5 - See above Clapham 5 - Did ok at times but still backs out and crap crossing Bell 6 - Lee Philpott !! This guy is Lee Philpott Hendrie 5- Worst game he's had for us Oakley 5 - Crap and people don't seem to say anything about him Hayles 6 - Good old Bazza, had ago Howard 1 - SHITE Dj - 2 - Runs and runs but shit Subs:- Hume 7 - Class act Fryatt 3 - GET RID Mcauley - 4 - Can't remember him doing anything Ollie - 0 - Make a joke about this you willy puller

Koke Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Who assisted Hume's goal btw - Was it Bell or Stearman?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Can't rate them. It's another wasted opportunity made up of lots of little wasted opportunities. It's nearly all over now.

clazkel Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Just about with you on all of that just dont think Clapham should have played he was awful today not worth more than 4.....was mattock injured ?? I was annoyed when they announced the team, and Clapham was in for Mattock. Ollie said on the radio after the game that Mattock was abit shakey (or something along them lines) last week against Sheffield Utd and i think he went for experience in Clapham, but i would've stuck with Mattock as he is a better option going forward. I felt against Sheffield Utd Mattock got isolated quite alot coz we were down to 10 men. Stick with Mattock!
LcFc D3C Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 cant be arsed to rate them but all i no is howard is sh*t and hume un mcauley should play up front
robbieLOVESthealmightylcfc Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 thing is, if we go down all our players will leave because there too far up there arses but if there so blooody good why the fook cant they get results!
Fox You Forest Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 cant be arsed to rate them but all i no is howard is sh*t and hume un mcauley should play up front  seriously?
LcFc D3C Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008  seriously? yh he did more than what howard did in 5 minutes
Fox You Forest Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 yh he did more than what howard did in 5 minutes True he did do more than Howard but he wouldnt know what to do up there for a full 90.
LcFc D3C Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 True he did do more than Howard but he wouldnt know what to do up there for a full 90. well he did well flickin balls on and won more than howard so maybe he should be like dion dublin
Narborough Bod Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 well he did well flickin balls on and won more than howard so maybe he should be like dion dublin I may be alone here but I think the overall problem was with the tactical changes. I thought we had the better of them in the first half and cut their very square defence open a few times. Had we had the composure to stay on side I think we could have been fine. However, swapping Hayles and Campbell took the wind out of the sales, hence the poor 2nd half showing. Showed a lack of belief, and panic from the management. To then take off both big men, leaving Fryatt, Hume and Campbell up front, whilst continuing to hoof long balls up and attempt to put crosses in all of the time defied belief. Final straw to send a keeper up when we are drawing, not losing, showed inccompetance IMO. I have defended Holloway on here before and I know this is supposed to be player ratings but for tactical nous, I would give Holloway 1 (and that is only for realising we had no height and sticking McAuley up front)

When their defence was coming out that was when we had more joy. As it proved with the goal and Fryatt's chance. If anything I thought Holloway recognised this and the changes he made gave us the goal. i think this has been over looked.

Fair enough, but also, on refernece to the first bit, I thought we did open them up a few times in the first half. But for badly timed runs we could have been through more than once. I didn't think there was the need to swap Campbell and Hayles at half time. What was your thought on the Henderson move at the end?
Webbo Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Hendo 6-Flapped once and could have done better for the goal. Stearman 7-Solid. Kisnorbo 6-So-so. Bruno 5.5- Not brilliant. Clapham 7-Some of the best crossing of the match. Hayles 6.5-Looked like he was trying. Bell 6.5-Some good runs but his crosses were poor. Oakley 5-Was he playing? Hendrie 5- As above. DJ 5-Bring back Hammond(ankle). Howard 5-Was fouled a lot, but not at his best. Hume 7-Took his goal well. Fryatt 6.5-made things happen. McAuley N/A
Cat Burger Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Clapham 7-Some of the best crossing of the match. Yes, it would have been if we had this man playing: Oh yeah and providing he had a big jump and could head a ball.
