Raj Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 The Man Is God! Took it well But Hayles made it for him and Hayles was MOM for me!!! Gives us oldies some hope!!!
Geo V Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 He has been heavily linked with a move to them for a year now so lets hope he stuffs the Owls and helps send them down.
the beange Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 iv got a lot of respect for hume he has always seemed to be devoted to the club and for him to come out with that saying he devotes it to the fans is good as lets be honest we were chanting non-stop all day glad to see them appreciating it.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuume! Agreed. Quality.

BigGibbo Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Am I right in thinking Hayles is older than you mate? No Raj is well old.
BigGibbo Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Hes not that old! Neh he's still a nipper it was just a joke to provoke some banter with Raj!
Ric Flair Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 One of only a couple of players who we can rely upon to produce the goods when needed. Holloway should be a little embarrassed with his handling of Hume in recent months. He's a finisher, a forward, stuck out on the wing is criminal. I do like the 3 pronged attack of Hume, Barry and Howard though. Barry's guile and craft allows Hume to play wherever he fookin wants.

I do like the 3 pronged attack of Hume, Barry and Howard though. Barry's guile and craft allows Hume to play wherever he fookin wants. It does make some sense considering how what few options we have on the left wing. To some extent we seem to have made ourselves slaves to 4-4-2 and I've never understood why. Teams need fluidity nowadays - players who are aware of spaces available but can interchange easily with others. It's another reason I like Beswick cos he's able to fit in almost anywhere on the field except goalkeeper and centre-back. Having Hayles in a three-man attack represents a big handfull for defenders to deal with and this was perfectly illustrated by the way Hayles held off a defender with sheer strength and immovability allowing Hume to get his tap in. Times I've though no two of our recognised strikers are quite enough. With more creativity and a bit more fire power in midfield - Oakley continues to disappoint - we could at last pose some threat to people.
Corky Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 I feel annoyed at Holloway. He was turning into Levein i.e. wasting Hume. Rob Kelly was the only manager who knew what Hume could do, and Hume scored plenty of goals during his tenure. Hopefully Humey will be here for the next few years, and we can have some more goals out of him. An average of 10 every season so far is pretty good considering our positions and overall goals tally.
