Danish midfielder Stig Tofting has signed for the Tianjin club, the Chinese first division side announced on Thursday.

No more details were revealed about the 34-year-old's contract but club manager Zhang Yifeng said they would sign Tofting "at allexpense".

"Tofting has formally signed the contract with the club this morning after the two sides reached agreement on the transfer fee," said Zhang.

"With 10 days of trial, Tofting has impressed the club deeply and we were delighted to get our fourth and last foreigner to complete the quota of foreign imports," Zhang added.

The Danish international, who has just been released from prison in Denmark after serving most of a four-month sentence for serious assault, picked the No. 12 jersey.

Tofting, a key member of the Danish squad at the 2002 World Cupfinals, has won 41 caps and previously played for English side Bolton Wanderers.

Tianjin is currently 10th on eight points in the standings of the 15-team league.

That is quite a while ago now. The incident happened shortly after the 2002 World Cup. He endured a miserable stay in Tianjin... was only there for 2-3 months before he returned to Denmark and played for his hometown club AGF Aarhus. He played there for half a season, with relative success and now plies his trade at Häcken in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

I'm experiencing a few problems with my PC at the moment, I think it has a virus and this has meant FM playing up and failing to load or save my game.

Hopefully I can get this fixed :(

28th January 2006 - League One

Peterborough Utd 0-1 Luton Town

Peterborough had two players sent off and were luckily to only lose by one goal, David Bellion got our goal after a good run.

1st February 2006 - FA Cup 4th Round Replay

Luton Town 6-0 Barnsley :D

What a bloody great performance! Without a doubt the best display since I've been manager and what time to do it. Kenny Deuchar scored an amazing five goals in a stunning individual performance, David Bellion scored our other. We we will play Manchester United at home in the 5th Round *gasp*

4th February 2006 - League One

Luton Town 3-0 Stockport County

Another great display to move us back into the play-offs. Kenny Deuchar grabbed a brace and David Bellion got the other.

7th February 2006 - League One

Luton Town 4-0 Brentford

It's 13 goals scored and none conceeded in three games for us as we demolished Brentford and Kenilworth Road. Junior grabbed a brace, Bellion got one and O'Connor scored an own goal to make it 4-0. Man Utd will be quaking their boots at this rate ;)

11th February 2006 - League One

Crewe Alexandra 1-1 Luton Town

A very even game that was always going to be a draw. Third placed Crewe equalized in the second half after Junior had out us ahead with a neat finish

14th February 2006 - League One

Luton Town 1-0 Bristol City

A much needed three points in our quest to catch up with the automatic places. Junior scored the only goal of the game just before half-time with a strong header. We are 5th and three points behind second place. Up next the big one, Luton vs Man Utd...

18th February 2006 - FA Cup 5th Round

Luton Town 0-1 Manchester United

We really did do incredibley well. In the first half Man Utd played a 4-4-1-1 formation and I combated that by playing a 5-1-2-2 formation and it worked superbly, we went into the break level and we were really competing with Man Utd. Sir Alex realise we were containing them easily and changed to a 4-3-3, so we changed to 5-2-2-1 however from the free kick straight after we had changed formation we fell asleep and Klose broke free to score. We pushed forwardmore to little effect but we still held and challenged United until the very end.

22nd February 2006 - League One

Luton Town 1-1 Boston United

We really should of won but we looked very tired after the FA Cup game, however when you have 19 shots on goal compared to Bostons 3 you expect to win. David Bellion scored our goal.

25th February 2006 - League One

Blackpool 1-1 Luton Town

We played well but unlike us we failed to push forward often. It took us until the 89th minute before we could get on the score sheet, Leandre Griffit struck home to grab a late point.

1st March 2006 - League One

Luton Town 0-0 Doncaster Rovers

A very even game until the 70th minute when Doncaster went down to 10 menm we threw everything forward but couldn't find a break through. Another draw...

4th March 2006 - League One

Luton Town 0-0 Rushen & Diamonds

Yet another draw and yet more points dropped, we are really starting to fall away from the top two now. We should of won this game but we look very jaded. We are 5th in the league 11 points behind 2nd place.

I told you Deuchar is the shit, you will get promoted with that legend in your team.

He's a great player, just a pity Junior seems to have dropped his standard this season.

7th March 2006 - League One

Barnsley 2-1 Luton Town

We played well but Barnsley played better, simple as that. Kenny Deuchar scored to give us the lead but two goals from Wroe gave Barnsley the win

11th March 2006 - League One

Luton Town 0-0 Oxford United

Yet another draw and if we aren't careful we won't even get into the play-offs this season. This was a dull game with very few good chances for either side.

18th March 2006 - League One

Oldham Athletic 0-1 Luton Town

A good strong away performance and we battled hard to gian a much needed victory. David Bellion got the only goal of the game after 20 minutes

18th March 2006 - Leon McKenzie signs on loan for three months, hopefully he can give us those much needed goals.

27th March 2006 - League One

Walsall 0-2 Luton Town

A Kenny Deuchar brace topped a great performance by the Scotsman, however man of the match was Ahmet Brkovic who was in fantastic form. Two wins in a row, lets hope this is the start of a good run.

1st April 2006 - League One

Luton Town 1-0 Bristol Rovers

Another win despite playing very average. Neither side played well or created many chances but Sol Davis' 49th minute free kick was enough to give us all three points at Kenilworth Road.

5th April 2006 - League One

Millwall 2-1 Luton Town

A battling performance but Millwall, who are striding away with this league, were just too strong in the end. Leon McKenzie opened his account from the penalty spot.

8th April 2006 - League One

Luton 4-1 MK Dons

A very good display from us that eases our fears of dropping out of the play-off places. Kenny Deuchar got a brace while Ahmet Brkovic and Junior got our other goals.

15th April 2006 - League One

Colchester United 3-1 Luton Town

A poor performance made worse by oley being sent off after 27 minutes, there was only ever going to be one winner.

22nd April 2006 - League One

Bournemouth 1-3 Luton Town

Despite having Stig Tofting sent off we still managed to beat second placed Bournemouth in what was a great display by us. Deuchar, Bellion and Griffit got our goals that that all but secures our play-off place for the second year in a row.

29th April 2006 - League One

Luton Town 2-0 Bradford City

A professional and solid performance that secured our play-off place. Leandre Griffit and Kenny Deuchar with the goals.

6th May 2006 - League One

Hartlepool United 0-3 Luton Town

Another brilliant performance despite having a player less, McKenzie was sent off after 43 minutes and will miss the first leg of the play-off semi. Deuchar, Griffit and Robinson got our goals. We finish 4th and will play Crewe in the play-off semis.

13th May 2006 - League One Play-off Semi 1st leg

Crewe Alexandra 3-5 Luton Town

What a game! Crewe took the lead with less than a single minute gone and it looked like a thrashing was on the cards. 9 minutes later something remarkable happened, in less than three mad minutes Kenny Deuchar managed to score hat trick and turn the tie upside down! The Scot ripped the Crewe defence apart and left Gresty Road in near silence. With nearly half an hour gone Crewe got a goal back through Higdon but 10 minutes later Deuchar did it again, scoring a powerful long range effort to make it 4-2 going into half time. The second hald started off badly for us with Deuchar and Hill both having to be stretchered off and things got even worse when in the 67th minute Dion Dublin scored from penalty spot. However our two goal advantage was restored in the 78th minute when David Bellion slotted home a rebound. A great performance but still a lot of work to be done at Kenilworth Road.

13th May 2006 - Leicester survive relegation from the Premiership by 1 point after suprisingly beating Chelsea 3-0 at the Walkers Stadium, a few weeks back they looked dead and buried. De Vries, Connolly and Sturm got the goals to keep Glenn Hoddles men in the big time.
