Bert Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 at players awards he said he really wants to stay but him and ollie dont like each other so i think its one or the other. ollie out!!! More like Hume doesn't like playing out of position.
PAULCFC Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 When we got the free kick yesterday afternoon i couldn't help to think back to QPR Away on New Years Day...........................BUGGER!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Hume is probably the only one who is hurting at present.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Hume is probably the only one who is hurting at present. Hume, Kisnorbo, Stearman... any one of the players who have been in this shit the longest trying to stop the ship from sinking.
Danglo Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 If it wasn't for him, we would have been relegated weeks ago. Unfortunately, he bottled it against Wednesday, but that's life. Whatever people might say about him, he is one of the few players who I can safely say put 110% effort in every game and rightfully earned his wages.I really hope we keep him next season, as him, Bell and Gradel could be a deadly attacking force. he tries hard which is commendable, but he only stands out because he's an average player in a woeful team
samuel Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Come on people, Ian Hume can hustle and bustle and score the odd goal but he can just as easily lose his rag, start chucking his toys if things don't go his way. League one will be by far his natural level. My personal opinion is that it will do LCFC some good being in L1, start using some of the kids a bit more, get strikers like Andy Bishop in and start from the bottom up again. Forget people like Howard, he's done his bit, he won't have the hunger anymore and certainly not for L1. If they can keep half the current team, then great, if not, no worries, use the kids and get the team playing. Hume and Holloway don't get on because i suspect Hume wants to play up front every game but Holloway has 2, million quid plus strikers at the club, of course he has to play them, that's just common sense. Yes they let him down but i reckon he didn't have a lot of choice, he had to play them. I think there are 1 or 2 players there now that should stay on and fight, just to right a few wrongs i.e Clemence and Campbell. It would be nice to keep Kisnorbo but lets be honest, he has his International future to think about. The good thing about league 1 is that you no longer need to keep journeymen on the books for that bit of experience. So Howard, Hayles et al can go and bug someone else. And for the record, i think Holloway should stay, i know his tactics have been a little bizarre of late but i suspect a lot of that is down to the position of the club and the players he chose not having the stomach for a fight when it mattered most. But the club needs a stable period, the players need to know who the gaffer is next year and if they don't like that, then they can move on. Get rid of dead wood and bad apples....
Molson Canadian Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 he will be gone, i would not be suprised if he has already not handed in a transfer request there is no way he will want to go back down and play in leauge one at the point i think he would rather play for toronto fc than have to play in leauge 1 lots of clubs will be interested in him and the club will be forced to sell him along with other players on the team examples: mattock, stearman etc.

Geordie Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 The only place Iain Hume is a star is in his own little world. Part of a relegated team, been part of a relegation battling squad for 3 years and the only clubs that want him are a lower lever MLS team and Preston. Not fit to wear the shirt, a moody little toerag who only plays at home when he can have his ego massaged by the HUUUUUMMMMMEEEE chants. Good riddance to him.

Preety harsh, if it wasn't for him we probably would have been down many weeks before, many seasons before now. Hume is definetly not the reason we went down far from it.
Father Ted Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I fear he'll leave in the summer. He's had a very frustrating season and I don't blame him one bit. He's been absolutely wasted on the wing by Holloway this season and it's been a huge error on the manager's part. And for him to still finish as our top goalscorer just goes to show the season we've had. Hume is at least Championship quality and I think we'd do well to hold onto him. If we got rid we'd regret it- we don't actually have anybody else capable of scoring goals (obviously this is before summer signings). I just hope he's still a Leicester player come the start of the season. We have to keep him without a doubt! Holloway has ruined him by playing on the wing, if Holloway stays I think it might just be more reason for him to go
SamL Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 He's been the shining light in a poor team over the past few years. I like the bloke and I'd love to see him next year. He's one of the very few to actually put any passion in. He's been wasted on the wing this season and to still be top scorer is a pretty good achievement. However unlikely, I want him to stay.

Hume is one of the few players to come out of this campaign with any credit, again finishing topscorer. He has spent most of his time on the wing under Holloway. This is a similar discussion to those having a pop at Stearman when he was playing right wingback (a position he was not attuned to).
Tilley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Please Humey, please stay. He could lead us back into Championship & become a legend at this club. I just hope he doesn't go to a Champtionsip club, & be left to sit on the bench.
Kilworthfox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Relly good player but with great commitment and passion and desire, he has a few faults but a player I would sadly miss. Good luck Humey hopefull in a Leicester shirt but i doubt it with the interest from other sides.
Simi Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Would be nice to see some commitment from a player that has been worshiped by the fans here, but I doubt he'll want to hamper his career, why should he? It's the price of relegation I'm afraid, people will see us as an easy target, especially with our wage bill. They'll know we need to offload players and Hume will be a prime target, as will the likes of Stearman and Mattock. We can only hope their so called love for the club stretches and makes them want to stay.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 The main thing is to form a cohesive, organised team and get a winning mentality as quickly as possible. Who the individual players are doesn't matter. We've got enough quality in our squad to clear ten players out and still have a decent team as long as the emphasis is on commitment and attack. Hume deserves a move to the Championship and I wouldn't begrudge him that.
