Joe. Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 I fear he'll leave in the summer. He's had a very frustrating season and I don't blame him one bit. He's been absolutely wasted on the wing by Holloway this season and it's been a huge error on the manager's part. And for him to still finish as our top goalscorer just goes to show the season we've had. Hume is at least Championship quality and I think we'd do well to hold onto him. If we got rid we'd regret it- we don't actually have anybody else capable of scoring goals (obviously this is before summer signings). I just hope he's still a Leicester player come the start of the season.

Corky Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 He's scored over 30 goals in three seasons in a poor team, he works hard, and would be a real asset in League 1. I want him to stay, but I can't see it.

Whatever people might say about him, he is one of the few players who I can safely say put 110% effort in every game and rightfully earned his wages. I really hope we keep him next season, as him, Bell and Gradel could be a deadly attacking force.

But yes i can see a Championship club (god how weird it seems to write that knowing that it's a league above us) going for him next season. I think it was Preston who were after him this year weren't it?

dave_1988 Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 The look of the game changed so much when he went up front, I was amazed at how good a centre forward he looked (I know I shouldn't have been). Unfortunately we haven't made the most of him and he is ours to lose.

I would like to think he has an affinity for the club, but lets be honest - he's not like Muzzy, Walshie etc who were there through ups and downs. He has been here through some of the most shite, and now the darkest day, in the clubs history. The only thing that comes close to today was admin and the threat of non existence and thankfully that didnt happen. Unfortunately relegation did thanks to Mandaric/Holloway/Clemence/(Insert your own personal scapegoat here)

Aside from the point that it's impossible to give 110% (yeah I know what u mean, but still :P ) agree entirely. And don't assume all our best players will jump ship - the LEAST MM can do is finance our better players wages for at least one season - and when we went down from the Premiership for the first time, Muzzy stayed with us and captained us back up. Make Hume captain and get us back up!

He will terrify League 1 defences with his effort and pace, and will be a real asset for us. I desperately want him to stay, I hope he does, but, if I'm honest, I don't think he will.

I hope people will remember for his effort and goals that have kept us afloat the last 3 season ( well not quite this one ), but most people will just remember him for the penalty against Sheff Wed. He will be a brilliant striker in League 1, 20+ goal a season man, can't see him being here though. Please Humey, please stay.

They may now be in a league above us, but they will never be bigger than us. I personally think we should fight tooth and nail to keep him, along with some of the others. Of our strikeforce, DJ and Howard should go. They have shown very little in terms of passion and commitment for me. Not good enough. What's annoyed me is the way in which MM has come out in his interview. He should be all guns blazing and giving fighting talk - instead of that we're left wondering and pondering the worst. For me, he should have had a contingency plan for this and clearly he doesn't.

He doesn't make his teammates any better with good off the ball play or clever passing (though I'll hand it to him for that great diagonal long ball to Howard at West Brom ... and he scored a stunner against the USA for Canada last summer). In League One, he might be better than most competition, but he's never been the kind of player Leicester have needed to help take them to a higher level of play.

He isn't consistent enough to play at a higher level than the Championship, no, but he is certainly good enough for League one. He could get us out of this trouble - I have no doubt in my mind he could. He is one of the few players in our squad that actually gives a monkeys. Calling him a Lego piece is a little harsh!

He is capable of carving out his own chances, as well as feeding off a good supply. He is always a constant threat who will earn a team set-pieces and get goals. He is a Paul Dickov but a few years younger and without the experience. He is a player who will be in demand and we should look to get a good fee whilst we can.

If Hume goes we'll need a replacement instantly and sadly there isn't anybody in our club that can be one meaning city will be staying in league1 indefinately.

If he stays im sure he will have a good season after all its his level.

Devine right to be big?? it annoys me all that crap, where are Preston? in the Championship and minus this season (did well in the later stages) have done there talking on the pitch, what have we done? fook ALL..oh wait yes we have done one thing, get relegated.. As for Hume staying? i hope so i am a fan of his WHEN UPFRONT...but i reckon some Championship teams will come in for him and it will be hard for us to keep him!
