davieG Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Assuming Dabizas is suspended Walker Kenton McCarthy Dublin Maybury Gillespie Joey Hughes Tiatto DeVries Connlly Subs Lars Stearman Williams Moore Heath or Nalis, can't decide
davieG Posted 29 March 2005 Author Posted 29 March 2005 Yup seems a very realistic guess that! 84565 not much of a talking point these days as CL seems to have decided what his best team andformation is, very settled. The only real talking point is Williams v's Hughes.
breadandcheese Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 I'm going for a Levein surprise. After Maybury's mauling at left-back, I think we may see a possible debut for Sheehan (is that how you spell it?) with Maybury able to revert to his favoured right-back spot. That way we'll have a proper left-back, although maybe it's a gamble too far at such a crucial time for us. My team to play Millwall: Walker Maybury McCarthy Dublin Sheehan Gillespie Gudjonsson Hughes Tiatto De Vries Connolly Subs Lars Williams Stearman Moore Nalis

I'm assuming Dabizas/Dublin, Williams/Hughes, will be rotated while Wilcox (to give Tiatto a rest) and Moore will see some more action soon

IMO I don't think he would debut him against Millwall who are a very physical side and brushed us aside at the Den.
breadandcheese Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Oh yeah, I forgot about Kenton. I agree its unlikely that Sheehan will play, but I think our left side needs sorting (Maybury is solid down the right, but at left-back I'm a little unhappy). Maybe Kenton will move into centre-back alongside McCarthy (I believe he can play there, but may be wrong), freeing Dublin to play upfront alongside Connolly. Actually, my selection is getting worse all the time. Just think Sheehan might be gambled on.
Muz Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Walker Maybury Dublin McCarthy Kenton Gillespie Hughes Joey Stewart - I thought Tiatto was poor against West Ham and id like to see Jordan given a go Connolly Moore Subs. Lars Williams De Vries Stearmen Heath

Scarby Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 I would like to see Williams and Highes partner each other...thats the future for Scotland
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 I would like to see Williams and Highes partner each other...thats the future for Scotland 84616 No defensive aspect though. Williams goes missing and Hughes can't be relied upon to cover him. Gudjonsson's the only option. Wish all three could play but we look clueless playing 3-5-2. Leveins problem though, not mine.

Ric Flair Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Sorry but at home I think we can risk Hughes and Williams. Our problem at home has been we haven't been able to break teams down as the opponents sit too deep. But with Hughes and Williams the opposition couldn't afford to soak up the pressure and in return we would have more success in attacking. That's just my opinion, but i've not seen us once at home since Levein's taken over where we've desperately needed a ball winner. Gudjonsson seems more useful away from home. Anyway tell either Williams or Hughes to sit in when the other presses forward. We need an early goal against Millwall and to push on and wrap the game up as we don't seem to be able to hold on to slender leads. Let's nail the twats, what's the worse that could happen? We've took the safe option all season and been crap, so let's go gung ho. Licence to roam Hughesy.

Little Nicky Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Walker Kenton McCarthy Dublin Maybury Gillespie Hughes Williams Tiatto Moore Connolly Subs Bench: Hirshfeld | Heath | Joey | Wilcox | Wright Spot on "Mr Chainsaw"! I think we can give Hughes and Williams a wirl in midfield together, especially after Hughesy's cracking defensive display against West Ham he's proved to me that he's more than equiped at both ends of the field, have some of you forgotten that fantastic goal line clearance he made!? And I don't think Levein feels he can put his total confidence in De Vries right now, and he's publically stated that Moore will be an assett this month! I'd love to see Canero feature but that's just not going to happen!

Licence to roam Hughesy. 84630 I take your point but we are no better at home than we are away. 84631 But the emphasis at home is to attack more than it is when your away from home. Teams who come to The Walkers often sit back and we find them hard to break down. You look at our games at home and we lose 1-0 when we lose, all because teams sit back and frustrate us and then hit us on the break. Dull, scrappy matches, which shouldn't be happening. If we open teams up with more attacking play then they can't afford to sit back and space is then created for Hughes and Williams to damage opposition. We do have a better home record than away, even though our home record is atrocious. But we haven't won away since november in the league and we have got to change something, we need to be positive and the only way is to attack, attack, attack. We need an early goal and then another one. We haven't gone 2 goals up for ages and if we did that I think the whole manner of the way we play will change and we'll get the points we need.
