maddog Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 It's got to be between Howard and Clemence Clemence has been awful, so has Howard apart from West Brom away. I suppose Howard has scored 6 goals but then again cost more than Clemence. Fook it it's Steve Howard!
SamL Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Got to be Howard, Dj and Clemence for me. I don't regard all of the money I've spent as a waste. I still look forward to every game regardless of how poor we are. It's always a good laugh and I've met no end of new people this season. The downside to that is it can be very depressing when you're relegated
Blue Lou Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I'll go with Holloway!! We paid a fortune for that T*ss*R!!!
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I don't think Campbell was that bad ... Jus couldnt score but was a lot better then the other signings i.e. Cort, Howard and Hayles Being fair, he wasn't the worst. However, he was only worth a third of what we paid and the thread does say "Biggest Waste of Money".
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 The wages for Hellings surely. That was the most pointless signing any club has ever made.

I don't regard my Saturdays watching Leicester as wasted, I've got nothing else to do and I enjoy watching my team (even if we are awful). My passion will never change, we may be in League 1, I'll probably become a better fan because of it and treat any future success as even greater than before.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 /Jimmy Nielsen. I had actually forgotten about him.
lildave3 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I had actually forgotten about him. Lucky you. I'm still recovering from the broken hand his beastly handshake gave me back in Quorn.
iancognito Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Campbell moreso than Howard... Howard scored two more league goals than Campbell. Given that 3 of the six were in one game and that Campbell spent half the season injured or benched sums it up. I think DJ will be a big asset if he stays and stays fit next year whereas Howard will still be nailed to the floor, still have his Toblerone boots on and still be incapable of hitting a cow's arse with a banjo. Top 5 waste of monies 1. Howard 2. His signing on fee 3. His wages 4. Anyone that bought a Lackzo or Bori shirt 5. Anyone that bought a Clive Clarke shirt (bless him)
renards Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Says it all....Headlines BBC Staying Ups Worth £250,000 Cheltenham Town chairman Paul Baker says that he hopes to make the money generated by staying in League One available for squad strengthening
Thracian Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 There isn't half some choice because Leicester really have chucked some money away. I honestly believe I could have saved Mandaric millions just by watching some of the players we've signed, even fairly briefly, and reporting back. But, seeing as he outed the bloke, it has to be Martin Allen. There were so many arrivals at the Walkers during his brief reign that I wondered if the club would get its own station. And seeing as Allen was history so quickly and so many of the signings were duffers I have to say he had to be the biggest waste of all. Not that it got much better as the season unfolded. And Holloway can't be left out of the equation either because what he's costing us is still ongoing and who knows what it will amount to in the end.
Father Ted Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Steve Howard, DJ Campbell, the wages of Carl Cort, Stephen Clemence and my season ticket But Bargain has to be getting Megson for nothing and then 7 games later compensation of 300k. But not much compensation because if we kept him we wouldn't be in League 1 - Well that's my opinion
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 The thing with Allen is its very hard to judge who and what he was responsible for and to what extent. I seem to remember we kept toying with various theories of who signed who way back when. It doesn't half seem like an age ago. And on a personal note, Colchester away was the biggest waste of money. With the cost of petrol being so absurd I spent an absolute fortune getting there for an absolute stinker of a match.
