TrevorBenjamin Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 So who does your vote go to? Mine goes to Kaebi. I was really excited by him, being young and highly rated in his teens. However, he never seemed to be given a chance and was stuck in the reserves, where he picked up his wage each week. Hayes was a pointless signing too.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 It's a tough call between DJ Campbell and Steve Howard as the biggest waste of money. This is not to say that all the other transfers weren't a waste of money.
Matt Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 DJ Campbell I think, He's had his injuries I suppose and apparently he still wasn't right towards the end of the season and getting it sorted over the summer (Is that correct? ) but he has been poor. Saying that I think he'd rip League 1 up...I hope...Probably jinxed it now
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Campbell, Howard, Kaebi, Clemence, Oakley, Nielsen. At least the £4.5m of Milan's required investment, right there, on that shower of shite. Obviously, without the details of wages its hard to gauge the impact of signings such as Cort and Newton. So much easier to say who WAS a worthwhile signing!
Mark Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Steve Howard. 1.5M, high wages + 3 and half year deal, why do we always get stuck with these disasters?
dandannieldanok Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Steve Howard. 1.5M, high wages + 3 and half year deal, why do we always get stuck with these disasters? Hopefully he's got a relegation release clause, I'm sure there will be one championship club foolish enough to take a punt on him.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Got to be the 76 players Martin Allen brought in last summer! Also Martin Allen's compensation must have been a big waste of money. At the end of the day he couldn't have done any worse than got us relegated so we may as well have stuck with him if you think about it like that! Does sound like he wasn't the right man though
renards Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 The opposite but........Saving money abandoning the maintainence program on the pitch???
Joe. Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I'd go with Howard. £1-1.5 million transfer fee and his mental three year contract. It wouldn't be so bad if he'd have put the effort in in the last couple of months but he hasn't.
Staf Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 DJ Campbell i dont know how many goals he scored but it wasnt many and that isnt good enough for the money we paid for him.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 It's a tough call between DJ Campbell and Steve Howard as the biggest waste of money. This is not to say that all the other transfers weren't a waste of money. Campbell moreso than Howard... Howard scored two more league goals than Campbell.
filbertboy Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I'd go with Howard. It wouldn't be so bad if he'd have put the effort in in the last couple of months but he hasn't. £1-1.5 million transfer fee and his mental three year contract. I agre with Joe !! it has to be Howard !!!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Carl Cort. I also thought the cheese and onion pasties were shit AGAIN!
Daggers Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 New lucky scarf. It was as crap as the old unlucky lucky scarf.
mancunianfox Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I don't think Howard was by any means our greatest signing but when he was having a poor game Holloway would never ever sub him. I don't think that did his confidence any good which could be why he started to play so badly towards the end of the season. Three and a half year contract is ludicrous though.

Jus couldnt score but was a lot better then the other signings i.e. Cort, Howard and Hayles
