Ollie's knockers

Someone tell Ultra that Holloway is not being sacked - he seems to be in denial.

I can't wait for the season to begin - I'm looking forward to going to Liverpool and Newcastle the most.

Not that I particularly favour Taggart but I would have thought that a high proportion of teams in Leagues 1 & 2 employ managers with little or no experience.

These were some ideas I posted, I'm sure the majority of whom would jump at the chance to manage Leicester. True some are currently involved in play-offs and they would be a risk, who wouldn't be? But I'd prefer to take the risk rather than stick with someone who was clearly not up to the job.

Steve Tilson - had promotions from this league and managed in the Championship with minimal resources

Dave Penney - been successful at Doncaster & Darlington in the mode of Brian Little

Sean O'Driscoll - currently enjoying success at Doncaster

John Ward - Experienced having been assistant to Graham Taylor, Josef Venglos, Dave Jones he got Cheltenham promoted and currently having some success at Carlisle.

Stuart Gray - Short spell in charge of Southampton been assistant to Glen Hoddle & Dave Jones currently doing a decent job at Northampton

Gary Waddock - long shot really, has worked with Holloway and at least managed to keep QPR up after Ollie was sacked, done a tremendous job at Aldershot.

I'd be happy giving Penney or Tilson a go.

No, I don't want Dowie and Ince isn't going to come to us.

Again i'll say i'm undecided, but my main problem with most if not all of those is the Martin Allen syndrome. I'll admit to being quite ignorant of leagues lower than the one Leicester is in, so i had better start brushing up, but do we not then risk employing another manager who acts like a kid at a candy shop at the sight of money and wastes a pre-season/10 games of the next and we find ourselves in exactly the same position as this season?

At the same time no one is going to drop a league to join us, so Lisa has hit the nail on the head when she says what a difficult decision it is. It's a massive risk as to who gets the summer and the cash, because if that person fails, we have a season of successor's complaining that 'it isn't their team'.

The problem with the aforementioned managers, in my view, is that a lot of them have done it with little or no money, have had the same squad for successive seasons and the change of scene at Leicester could go tits up, (although on the other hand it could go great). Who knows how they will react to the pressure, they might instantly go out and buy old kodgers for security? How would you react if we signed (for example) Penney and the first thing he did was buy 10 championship rejects in the hope they will outclass league 1 teams. There is no guarentee any of them will come in and adopt an approach people seem to expect they'll have.

They obviously are the pick of the bunch with regards the English league and we couldn't expect any higher placed managers, and I don't want another employed for his reputation. It just gets cringeworthy on here when you read the 'Ollie out' posts gunning for his sacking with no solutions, and a lot of the solutions offered I can guarentee you that the so called 'expert football fans' will soon jump ship if their choice dosn't go to plan and we'll be part of groundhog day again. So for that alone you can't envy MM's choice, but I guess it's his decision to be there.
