davieG Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 That's me. But at least you haven't said give him 10 games or similar, well I've not seen it.
renards Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Commercial suicide if we kept the buffoon. Who is going to buy a season ticket and look foward to the season with him in charge. ...or ..Keep him by all means, get a very good number two in (not one of his team of unknown muppets) and keep Ian Holloway away from the team

stez Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 hopefully milan with his record of standing by his man, remembered to put in some sort of relegation clause in his contract? but who knows? he's not done much right either.
Chimp Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Someone explain to me how being one million pounds worse off and not having a management team is better than what we currently have because I am ****ed if I can understand your logic. Why? What's the point? Talking to you about Holloway is like talking to a brick wall. No matter who is put forward as a possible replacement, you will dismiss them out-of-hand. You find it easy to concentrate on the negative aspects of every other manager, why do you have such a blind spot for Holloway?
Father Ted Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 If MM doesn't sack Ollie then it will just show how he knows fcuk all about managers and how he always sacks them/keeps them at the wrong times. Ollie cannot stay, even if MM allows him to stay, Ollie should have a rethink and resign!

DanTheFox07 Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Kevin Bond Mate i Live in bournemouth and ive seen bournemouth play many a time, trust me he isnt good enough to manage this club....
DanTheFox07 Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Well, here are MY reasons to have him sacked.A multitude of largely underperforming signings, whether on loan or bought outright, along with failure to give any kind of real chance to our youngsters. He wasn't exactly a master tactician either, reaching a new low with the negativity that resulted in our (well-deserved) relegation. He just never really had the talent for the job. I'm not questioning his passion, but it's not enough. And my 11yr old says he's rubbish, so ner! He tried, he failed (miserably it has to be said) so move on... Good post, never really looked at our youth players seriously.......looking at palace and there situation they played there youngsters and come up trumps
syston_fox Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Mate i Live in bournemouth and ive seen bournemouth play many a time, trust me he isnt good enough to manage this club.... If they hadnt won those 5 games in a row or whatever it was then no one would be even considering him. His record at Bournemouth: P89. W31. D14. L44. Win percentage of 27.59% - 1.5% worse than Holloways record and 8% worse than Peter Taylors. I think we'll give him a miss shall we?

syston_fox Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 No, don't, he played Max Gradel. If I agree to play him then can I be considered for the next manager should Ollie be fired?
Scow Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 If I agree to play him then can I be considered for the next manager should Ollie be fired? If you decide to play King, Beswick. Sheehan, Sappleton, and Dodds (and more promising, yet ultimately disappointing youngsters), then yeah.
Manager Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Holloway has many talents and I really hope he directs his them properly for the remaider of his career: He is a (sometimes) funny comedian He is great TV pundit He has a wonderful turn of phrase He has a lovely family He is very good company . . I could go on all night . . He has only one obvious deficiency He cannot manage a football team Now this is true of most of us so it should not lead to abuse. Please, Ian, do the decent thing before Milan does the painful thing - you will still have a great career. . . and who should replace him? - I have no idea - but I am not chairman of a football club - just a simple country boy - thats me. But there are many FOOTBALL people out there who deserve a chance.
act smiley Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Paul Lambert Certianly one to add to the list of options, seen Wycombe play a couple of times this season and they played some good stuff with some good movement, which for me has been a fault in our side for a while now. He did pretty poorly in Scotland from memory, but he's done a very good job down at Wycombe.
Thracian Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Mate i Live in bournemouth and ive seen bournemouth play many a time, trust me he isnt good enough to manage this club.... I do trust you!
Raj Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Get Jean Tigana in NOW!!! Or failing that get Big Phil Scholari in!!!
Corky Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Get Jean Tigana in NOW!!!Or failing that get Big Phil Scholari in!!! Look Raj, we want a successful managers who are proven winners, and you come up with these suggestions? Dear me
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Look Raj, we want a successful managers who are proven winners, and you come up with these suggestions? Dear me You only really need the 1st post of this thread to realise it makes no sense in sacking Holloway. It will put the club back even further. Give him a whole pre-season with the players and give him a decent chance. I actually feel quite sorry for him considering what kind of squad he inherited, the morale he had to turn round and the lack of time he had to do anything of considerable worth. People harp on about the bad times at QPR and Bristol Rovers but he worked miracles at Plymouth (no-one can deny that). If MM sacks him today it will not only be a financial loss but a loss in terms of stability too. Give him a chance MM.
brookfox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Is Steve Coppell 100% out of our reach if he leaves Reading? Granted he could get a Chamionship job easy enough, but he might fancy a challenge. I'd guess there's a 1% chance of it happening, but compared to winning the lottery, that's almost a certainty!

By "our survey said" standards, that's a landslide. So even you should be able to get this decision right.

If you were to poll them I imagine it would be a lot closer...

I wonder how big your voice would have been for the dissenter had 99% of the poll wanted to retain Holloway.
