Ric Flair Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I'm not renewing as it stands. My decision may change, but I doubt it will be within the next 2-3 months so i'll be paying more in the long run. But i'm flabbergasted by recent events and need to take stock. I will always support Leicester and i'm looking forward to next season in a sick sort of way, but I hate feeling like my loyalty is exploited by this club and therefore i'm taking a step back for a while.

It's definitely pt a downer on things, a fresh face, fresh impetus may have even got me to renew my membership....as it stands I can't be bothered!!!
ASH17LCFC Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I will not renew if Ollie is in charge and alot of people feel the same way. I don't care if in your eyes this doesn't make me a True Leicester fan.

ASH17LCFC Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I've never suggested that at all. However, this is my club and I'd feel awful not renewing..... Why ? The clubs just a joke, Milan will realise this when he finds out that hardly anyone has brought a season ticket and hopefuly he will wake up.

I sometimes think we are a bit spoilt, there are clubs in a hell of a lot worse position than ours and I'm not cutting off my nose to spite my face, I enjoy watching football/City and wont give that up regardless of what division we're in/who is in charge/who's playing for us/whoever is chairman...

Financially perhaps, but in terms of the performances, I doubt you'd find a team in the football league that has been as consistently poor for 4 years on the trot as we have been.

stevec Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Everyone has the right to do as they please - its just a football game after all (well so my wife says - I disagree). However, if people do not renew tickets because of how they "feel" about the situation (obviously affordablity, able to get to games is different) and those same people then question Chairman, manager, player loyalty, is that not double standards (especially as most players do not even have an affinty to the club in the first place)?

No One group pays the other gets paid. How else can you make the club aware that as fans your not going to be crapped on by keeping the Joker. We are guaranteed to sell more tickets with him not here
davieG Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I just don't like being ripped off or having the piss taken. No price reduction in tickets, Holloway retained despite being unable to keep us in the Championship even though he declared it as simple thing to do. 4/5 years of shite unexciting football The continual shooting themselves in the foot Plastic entertainment, music after goals Other than a misplaced sense of loyalty what other reason is there After 45 years and 15 years as ST holder I'm out. I'll go to reserves, academy and away games. Buying a ST will be giving endorsement to the piss poor way the club is being run, I just can't bring myself to do that.Sometimes you have to suffer for your principles.

I just dont think I could bring my self to do it...
davieG Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Definitely?? I just dont think I could bring my self to do it... It's not any easy decision and I'm as angry as fook but I believe I've been driven out!
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 12 May 2008 Author Posted 12 May 2008 It's not any easy decision and I'm as angry as fook but I believe I've been driven out! Fair play if you can stick by your decision.
davieG Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Fair play if you can stick by your decision. My son's already said no way but I was going to carry on, but not now.

sdb Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 if you don't believe in the regime (if thats the word) then fair enough - but take a balanced view on the club at the same time, not just 'We went down/Ollie out/i hate life etc'
Munzie Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 .... due to MM in one way or another, Ollie staying, Ollie going, new manager disappointment etc. does this justifiably tarnish your status as a fan of the club or are you right to take this stance?? I did not purchase a season ticket last year for various reasons and still went to all but one home game. Given this I paid more coffers to our money draining excuse of a first team than most ST holders. I will continue to support my club and cannot see how my loyalty/status of being a fan will be tarnished. I, like some on here, won't contemplate purchasing a ST this year. The last few seasons have been a disaster and have given us crap football to watch with very little entertainment value. Milan's appointment last year did raise my levels of enthusiasm, but until he and the club can provide consistant signs of improvement I will adopt the same stance as some of our players this season and turn up when I feel like it.

I don't think there's any 'right' or 'wrong' in this. It's a personal choice and I don't think anyone can be justifiably criticised if they don't renew their season ticket. It's their money, their time, their emotional investement to do with as they wish. Personally, I don't think there'd be anything, short of being destitute, that would stop me wanting an ST every season. I don't want Holloway as our manager but I really don't think a withdrawal of my financial support is going to change the situation. The only thing that is going to decide Holloway's future is results.
Floating Fox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Financially perhaps, but in terms of the performances, I doubt you'd find a team in the football league that has been as consistently poor for 4 years on the trot as we have been. Bradford.

The only thing that is going to decide Holloway's future is results. Mandaric is on record as saying that he changed his mind last year on appointing a certain individual as manager because of the adverse effect that appointment would have had on season tickets. But if he and the rest of the pro-H******y brigade are happy with crowds of 10-15k (which will do wonders for the atmosphere), there's little we can do. Ultimately the club belongs to him and he can do with it what he pleases. I'll go to a few away games if asked to do so, but while the gruesome twosome remain in charge I will never set foot in the Way again.
