Daggers Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 christ, i didn't get through the first chorus... and i think she has one of the worst voices i have ever heard.and this is number1, eh? shame on you, record buying public of england Records? Buy? I am lost.
Lillehamring Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 I really dont like the way you convey your opinions on music. I dont like how you seem to think you know better than everyone else. The Oasis argument a while back was a good example of this. You and others just rubbish their music. Well i hate to break it to you, these guys have sold millions of records. I dont mean to be rude, but who the fook are you to say they are rubbish? it's none of your business who i am to say whether they are rubbish or not - music is about taste and i think this is a diabolical song, selling millions of records doesn't make a record good merely it confirms a record's popularity - for the record i can't stand 'everything i do i do it for you' or 'love is all around' and their record sales piss all over these talentless (i suspect) one-hit wonders. FYI, i am a self taught musician and have probably written over 3 or 4 hundred songs (or parts thereof) in the last fifteen years... whilst i am strictly an amateur and have no aspirations to be anything more having seen first hand what a shallow red-light district the music business is, my songs online get a modest 5-10000 unique listens each month. ----- and, no, i don't think that even this makes me know 'better than anybody else' - it's all opinion-based - however, a man who has built a house would know better than me whether a house has been built well, by the same token, having actually written, recorded and produced music, i have a better insight into the technical merits of a song than someone who hasn't... in the same way that people on here will gladly point out that someone knows more about a city performance if they have been at the game rather than just reading the text coverage. as for oasis, again, popularity does not a great band make - quite frankly, with the production and advertising budget they had, combined with their grotesque rip off of the stone roses, they could have released an album of flatulence and people would still have bought it. i'm not going to argue about oasis tho, because i find them insufferably boring, and lyrically embarassing. and as far as 'how i express my opinions on music', i can assure you that i do not simply and indiscrimanately 'rubbish' bands, i've listened to enough music to know when a band 'isn't trying' or is just a copy of someone else. many people on here have criticised bands i am passionate about but i don't sit around feeling bitter about it 6 months later, the fact that my words had such an impact on you is oddly flattering- ultimately, 'that's not my name' is a poor track that owes a great debt, as someone pointed out, to toni basil (itself a one-hit wonder) - i'm enntitled to express this opionion for no other reason than the fact that it leaves me cold and i don't think the girl can carry a tune, to me it is just another band with too much studio time and not enough songwriting ability... i hope this is sufficient justification for my opinion and that how i have expressed it is sufficiently expansive and respectful. if it isn't, then go
filbertway Posted 26 May 2008 Posted 26 May 2008 Alright song, but not as good as great DJ I don't think. Should not be number 1 though, I was actually shocked when it beat Rhianna last week. Finally balance was restored this week by the looks of it
Guest Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Why has nobody gagged The Ting Tings, and locked them away somewhere where my ears can never be offended again? Valerenga, your prediction was sadly wrong.

Guest Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Have you heard their new one?I think a remix should be done- "I'll shut up and bugger off hey" Yes, yes I have. It was playing whilst in the gym today. Why is it all the crap tunes are a lot louder than the decent or bearable ones?
Corky Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Yes, yes I have. It was playing whilst in the gym today. Why is it all the crap tunes are a lot louder than the decent or bearable ones? I think it's to emphasise the point they are crap. No doubt we will play it before every home match about ten to three, just after the utterly awful "Let me entertain you".

Corky Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 This is why I stay in the pub as long as possible. I'm surprised you can't hear it in the pub with the noise they decide to play it at.
Guest Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 I'm surprised you can't hear it in the pub with the noise they decide to play it at. Not with the company I keep
Nationwider Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Absolutely unbelievable. Why has no-one told me about this before? The F&W do Tone Loc? Brilliant!
Cat Burger Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 I watched them for two minutes on the telly. I don't know why their backing musicians aren't allowed on stage. It looks stupid, one drummer and an ugly bird with a shit voice, who sings or plays one chord. Daft.

Guest Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Apparently she's supposed to be fit? I can't see it at all, very average She's still thinner and prettier than me. Even if I can sing better.
Asha Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Apparently she's supposed to be fit? I can't see it at all, very average I wouldn't stalk her, but if she climbed through my window now and offered herself, I wouldn't tell her she's average.
Corky Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Not for me I'm afraid, there are better lookers out there, and the fact the other half of her band looks like Timmy Mallett puts me off as well.
lildave3 Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 I like em. I don't mind them either. Displeased with your lack of Palace tommorrow Damien.
