Uncle Albert Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 It's not bait Its just my opinion on the over hyped goal scored last night by a Welsh Nobody To be fair Tommy if Rooney or any other England player had scored a goal like that last night you would be bumming it on here and telling us how good it was. Well done Mr. Evans.

Bert Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Fluke. Rubbish. In goals like that, it's always part luck - the brilliance of it is having the ingenuity and the confidence to try something original. I'm not going to insult the intelligence of the forum or myself by comparing Ched Evans to such greats as Thierry Henry and co'; however, if that had been Tevez and not Ledley and Ronaldo and not Evans people would be calling it goal of the season. Wales debutant Ched Evans admits his exquisite winning goal in Iceland on Wednesday was "a bit flukey" I THANK YOU
Finnegan Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Yes, Bert, I read it. But the fact he was honest about the amount of luck involved in a back-heel goal doesn't make it any less impressive. And that's basically my point, the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo who've scored some right belters in their time will all have to admit there's a certain degree of fluke in every great goal. The difference being Ched Evans, some Welsh U21 rookie, has the modesty to say it while Christiano I'm So Pimp Ronaldo doesn't. I'd have considered it more flukey if he'd have just closed his eyes and wildly blammed in some eighty million yard screamer. He clearly knew what he was doing. And, no, I won't stop rising to the bait. I'm doing my Thracian impression.

Asha Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 In honour of his recent flukey achievement, we should all call him Chedwyn, just an idea like.
Bert Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 In honour of his recent flukey achievement, we should all call him Chedwyn, just an idea like. Or maybe the fact that it's his actual name?

lildave3 Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Finners is shit. At what exactly? Or just in general? If it's the latter, i'd say that's a bit harsh. Fully agree with the former though.

lildave3 Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Finners, are you teaching me to say that place name or what?
Finnegan Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Given that it would probably take me a week just to teach you to pronounce the first two letters, no. Honestly, I'd have no idea how to write "Ll" in phonetics - I'd have to do it audibly and even then you'd likely fail. Just listen to any English rugby pundit try and pronounce "Llanelli" and you're in for a barrel of laughs. & Flynny, name the time and place and I'll be there with pina colada and hot fudge.

Is it 'Klanceckli' ? Or am I wrong? I would love to learn it though. Just to whip it out when folks are bored, I could entertain them.
