England v USA

I have regarded Capello as an idiot ever since he said Rooney could captain England one day.

Why can't he?

USA USA USA

I would love the US to win just for the headlines on both sides of the Atlantic.

I don't think anything will ever beat "Yanks 2 Planks 0"

I couln't handle the shite I would take from all my friends! Although, I'm getting a load of people together to watch it with the anticipation of a major piss-taking session afterwards. :englandsmile4wf:

If we lose just tell them we won anyway, they're yanks they won't know the difference.

Why couldn't he?

Because he would be an awful captain, yes he has motivation but I can't see him organising and controlling a team, he can't even control himself most of the time.

Its geting loads of press over here, lots of interviews with fans travelling over.

They all have been given free scarves with their tickets so expect a small scale YNWA type display.

The'll outsing the english crowd I think, probably because to them its a big game but no-one in england cares.

No doubt I'll get the piss taken out of me thursday.

Why dont the english fans sing?

Why are the english so reserved?

Etc etc....

Disgusting that Terry should get the arm band.

It's obvious that he isn't man enough after watching him crying for hours after the champions league final.

He clearly spat at Tevez and got off with it.

Rio is coming off the back of a season in which he has captained a side winning the Prem and the Champions league, its fooking nonsense to hand it to Terry.

Nice first post.

But a man crying after missing the kick that would have won the Champions League for what is pretty much, 'his team' isn't anything to be ashamed of :dunno:

It is. John Terry is a grown man. It was a football match. Its pathetic.

I don't like John Terry but again with our "one sighted fans" i'm sure should we be in the position where we need to score a penalty to win something or for something very important and the player missed and then the player just got on with and got on with life, i'm sure some of our fans would be coming down on them like a ton of bricks, "He's shown no passion or commitment", "He doesn't care", "He's not bothered", and so on.

I disagree.

That penalty could have made people all over the world ecstatic, possibly even kept his managers job and would have ended a season in which he has been dogged by injuries and bad luck brilliantly.

I see no problem with that.

I think its quite clear that John Terry cares about Chelsea without blubbering though. You're right, some of our fans would criticise if the scenario you mention ever occurs, but I certainly wouldn't be one of them.

When I was younger, and football played a far bigger part in my life, I would have agreed with you. But as I've got older, it just doesn't matter as much. I'm still passionate about the game, but thats all it is, a game.

Give the captaincy to somebody who can lead by example.

That means not John Terry. The man's an absolute willy puller on the pitch, mouthing off at every opportunity, surrounding referees at every opportunity and pulling stunts like spitting at Tevez. It's not qualities like these that we should be looking for in an England captain.
