Darkzzz_ Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 A Ched Evans wonder goal. It was nice!!! Although he personaaly admitted it was a fluke, the welsh are just to nice!!
Uncle Albert Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 4-0 England.Terry Gerrard Rooney Crouch I was on the right tracks. Glad for John Terry aswell he shown what he is about last night. Rio the only player going to Trinidad who played in Moscow, surely means he will get the armband? Thought Barry had a good game when he came on. Gerrard had a good game aswell.
Simi Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Ha.I must be so easily pleased, i've not found this too boring at all. Not exciting, but not boring. Would rather watch this than most other things on TV anyway. At times we played some good stuff there, especially the 1 touch stuff. Not bad at all. I didn't watch the game, but I knew I'd read this post this morning regardless of the result. At times you are really that predictable when it comes to stuff involving over-media-hyped twats. Also, great idea to have Gerrard on the left, and though England were even better with Barry and Hargreaves in the middle The same idea McClaren was slated for? Give it until the qualifiers when people turn on him.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Just a pretty straight forward win over a side that aren't particularley good when there at their strongest, which they weren't last night. As has been said. all about the qualifiers.
Master Fox Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Complete borefest. Watched about 5mins of the first half, and only about 10 mins of the second. These games are a total waste of time. If i had my way, i'd scrap the English national team alltogether.
mancunianfox Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Last night was a just a training game, but it is nice to see that Capello's ideas are getting across. I'd pick this side in the next game... Hart Johnson Ferdinand Woodgate Bridge Beckham Gerrard Barry Downing Ashton Walcott
Tommy G Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Not a bad game to watch, nice that Becks got presented with his golden cap. Had a look back before the game at all his great moments on the big screen. Had a good view of Gerrards easy goal, played some nice one touch footy at times. Shocked that Terry was gievn the arm band, but he took his goal well. Got back at 12 which wasn't too bad either Wayne Rooney also needs to have a close look at his temperement (sp?) the whole game doesn't always have to evolve round him. You can't question his passion and commitment, but he needs to be more of a team player.
purpleronnie Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Wayne rooney still acts like a moron he cost us a place in euro 2008 and still acts the same. He needs to grow up and stop acting like a spoilt brat who gets a 'bag on' when it doesn't go his way. Baby.

ASH17LCFC Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 I don't care who i'm watching, I enjoy watching football. But that wasn't even a good game of football. I've rather have watched Mexico vs Peru if it was a fast paced attacking end to end game. England friendlys is football at its worst. I enjoy football but good football.
Finnegan Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 I don't care who i'm watching, I enjoy watching football. You should have slapped it on S4C then.
lildave3 Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 You should have slapped it on S4C then. You mean something other than Pobwyl Y Col was on? Or whatever it's called, that's likely not to be right.
placidcasual Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Can't understand why the US picked such a poorside, I hguess the likes of landon donovan will be saved for more important games. Maybe the reason Donovan didn't play is because he was injured? But dont let facts get in the way of you having another boring dig at England.
purpleronnie Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Maybe the reason Donovan didn't play is because he was injured? But dont let facts get in the way of you having another boring dig at England. How is that a dig at england?
placidcasual Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 How is that a dig at england? You know exactly why.
Bert Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Seriously. Move over Christiano Ronaldo, move over Thierry Henry. The Chev Evans back-heel is where it's at. Yes, yes, isn't it a funny language, blah blah blah. Just wank over the goal, already. Fluke.
purpleronnie Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 You know exactly why. Nope. But TBH I couldnt give a shit what you think. I got a big ol' fat bonus today.
C-man Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Seriously. Move over Christiano Ronaldo, move over Thierry Henry. The Chev Evans back-heel is where it's at. Yes, yes, isn't it a funny language, blah blah blah. Just wank over the goal, already. I watched that earlier and didn't even realise they were speaking Welsh. Only after Bert quoted what you said did I realise they were actually speaking Welsh! I thought they just had strong accents
Finnegan Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Fluke. Rubbish. In goals like that, it's always part luck - the brilliance of it is having the ingenuity and the confidence to try something original. I'm not going to insult the intelligence of the forum or myself by comparing Ched Evans to such greats as Thierry Henry and co'; however, if that had been Tevez and not Ledley and Ronaldo and not Evans people would be calling it goal of the season.

I wouldn't get so heated about it. To be fair most of us could have done that, he just caught is right in a flukey way. I think 40 yard screamers are much more impressive, and they are harder to do. The fact he is Welsh, and they are shag at football, is the reason why it is getting a bit of attention I guess?
Father Ted Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Last night was a just a training game, but it is nice to see that Capello's ideas are getting across. I'd pick this side in the next game...Hart Johnson Ferdinand Woodgate Bridge Beckham Gerrard Barry Downing Ashton Walcott I'd give Ferdinand a rest, don't play Beckham, let Bentley and Young play on the wings, so therefore no Downing. And I'm not quite sure about Walcott yet

I was slightly surprised Finnegan took Bert's bait but I'd be f**king shocked if he took yours.
Tommy G Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 I was slightly surprised Finnegan took Bert's bait but I'd be f**king shocked if he took yours. It's not bait Its just my opinion on the over hyped goal scored last night by a Welsh Nobody
