BBC Arrests in fan violence inquiryCity Arms pub, Earlsdon The violence began outside the City Arms pub, in Earlsdon, Coventry Seventeen people have been arrested by police investigating fighting between rival football fans earlier this year. About 130 police officers took part in the morning raids at six addresses in Coventry and 14 in Leicester. About 100 Coventry City and Leicester City fans clashed before a match involving the clubs in February. The fighting, which took place five miles from Coventry's Ricoh Arena in Earlsdon High Street, is thought to have been pre-arranged. Weapons, including knives, bottles, glasses, bricks and street furniture, were recovered after the disorder, which started outside the City Arms pub. The arrests follow a joint investigation involving the West Midlands and Leicestershire forces. Hope it's no one off here.

They probably wouldn't have even taken statements if it hadn't been football related.

Not condoning the actions of those involved but 130 officers in dawn raids months later following a joint investigation between two police forces lasting months. If only such effort went into catching burglars, muggers, crack heads, joy riders & all the other low life scum who bring much more personal misery to the law abiding general public
