Simi Posted 26 May 2008 Posted 26 May 2008 Well, talk away. Specifically linked managers should have a thread of their own.
davieG Posted 26 May 2008 Posted 26 May 2008 From Bentleys I'm by no means saying this is nailed on but this was told to me by a mate who went on a stag do with walsh, elliot, izzet, taggert and grayson last weekend. Apparently it was a foregone conclusion that Grayson would get the job and they were all having a laugh about it. I went into 3 bookies in Wigston saturday morning and none of them would let me put the bet on, mark jarvis even laughing when I asked what the odds were. Don't you just love all these I've got a mate/girlfriend/ or knows the Chef/Groundsman rumours. I guess on the law of averages someone will get one right one day.
lcfcrinaldi Posted 26 May 2008 Posted 26 May 2008 I think grayson will most probably get the job, although im not sure hes realy the right man.
Cheese Me Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 I'd love it if he did. I'd also be surprised if we get someone with that record and growing reputation.

Yeah, any young manager with a growing repuation would be wanting to steer clear of us I feel. Can't blame them really though, to be honest. Mandaric has helped to land us in the shit. He's now got to pick someone that's strong enough to get us out of it.

Simi Posted 30 May 2008 Author Posted 30 May 2008 Nigel Pearson looks like being the next to be linked with the city job been blow out of southampton this morning. Why does he?
SamL Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 His record at Southampton wasn't overly impressive despite avoiding relegation. He's a good coach but not really managerial material. No thanks.
lookwhaticando Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Why does he? Most managers who get bounced from a job soon get linked with us - sooner or later his name will appear.
JoeyB Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Steve Clarke is expected to follow Henk Ten Cate out of Chelsea within the next few days to clear the decks for the new boss.Assistant first-team coach Clarke is expected to leave after compensation talks. Last night reports in Italy claimed AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti had been offered the Stamford Bridge hotseat, but Chelsea denied the claim. Another man on the shortlist, Roberto Mancini, has had his sacking confirmed by Inter Milan, while Portugal boss, Brazilian 'Big Phil' Scolari, remains in the frame but will not declare his hand until after Euro 2008. And in a further twist, it emerged another Chelsea candidate, Blackburn's Mark Hughes, is attracting the interest of Manchester City. Meanwhile the sweeping changes at Stamford Bridge continued yesterday when Avram Grant's assistant Ten Cate followed the Israeli coach out of the door. The sacking came just four days after Ten Cate had claimed that he was assured his job was safe by Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon. At the time the now humiliated Dutchman, 53, had insisted: "Peter Kenyon informed me the departure of Grant will not affect me. "I'd rather go on that than newspaper reports." But, in a statement released last night, the West London club said: "It was clear this was the correct decision for all parties." Link I know he has been linked before, and if he leaves Chelsea could he take over? Didnt know where to put it, merge or move to where you fell appropriate, davieG, Ched
