The Stig Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 If he has a bad season with MK Dons that could ruin his reputation too. If he doesn't take the Blackburn job he's an idiot. Very true, going on those principle's he couldn't manage at all through fear of messing it up. I dis-agree, you have to learn to run beofre you can walk. Gain experience first.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Simon Grayson for me, Long term i think he would be the best bet i doubt whether he would use city has a stepping stone where i think Ince would and Ince is a born moaner thats the bit that puts me off him.And if SG was to get the job no doubt he would find a slot for Walshy.
Finchy Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 People have to remember Milan hasn't even spoken to Ince yet, he's on holiday and we have no idea what he thinks or even if he knows about it. Ince has turned down bigger clubs than us in the last year. Don't be surprised when he turns us down. If these Steve Walsh quotes are true we should go for Larry, i'd personally prefer to give Steve Clarke a try tho.

Sniffer-Clarke Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 It seems P Ince has not got his UEFA PRO-LICENCE yet so that might just hamper his move to Blackburn
CupidStunt Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 It seems P Ince has not got his UEFA PRO-LICENCE yet so that might just hamper his move to Blackburn didnt stop that goofy tit southgate at boro And that metal mickey head glen roeder

The Stig Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Incey? Clarkey? Why not just Inceometre or Clarkeometre? Just thought I would say that... To be honest I just thought the Y made it sound better, role's of the tongue Inceymoeter, I like it!
FilboFox Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 To be honest I just thought the Y made it sound better, role's of the tongue Inceymoeter, I like it! Oh OK... fair enough I guess. I just thought Inceometre sounded better... but its your sig so its up to you... either way is good I guess.

Fox You Forest Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 I'm confused. The second (Literally the second) I read Holloway had gone Grayson was the man I wanted, I was 100% Ince wouldn't come and i'm surprised we have got this far with Ince, Now we have got this far i'm thinking we may have a chance with Ince (i'm deluded...) and now my mind has changed to Ince being top of my list (I think).I am more confident we can get Ince now I have read it time and time again, and as I said i'm really surprised we've even got this far (i.e - Almost being granted permission to talk to him). Having said that I still don't think we will get him, leaving Grayson no.1 target for me.
Glenfield Fox Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 I actually have a good feeling about this, but I'm not sure why though . It is likely that Ince will have other options, but he may feel we are the right club for him at this time. It is probably hope over expectation on my part, but we are due some good fortune, and the name of John Gregory is hanging like a dark cloud which I am trying keep at bay with something more positive . Like other posts have have already indicated it is likely that informal soundings from Ince's reps have been encouraging, for an official approach to be made. Yes it is blind faith, but that is the mode I'm in since renewing my season ticket without knowing what the hell is happening with the playing staff or manager. I suppose we are all keeping the faith the best we know how and finding any crumbs of comfort in these dark days of league 1.
RedOnRed Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 How is it a sideways move?! Our club has a history, doesn't embody everything that's wrong with commercialised modern football and isn't the most hated club in the country. It's definitely a step-up. What's history got to do with it? Did history win us a cup and promotion this season...no it didn't. Forget it and think of now.
The Stig Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Oh OK... fair enough I guess. I just thought Inceometre sounded better... but its your sig so its up to you... either way is good I guess. I'll have a vote if he gets the job
The Stig Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Like Roy Keane then? Learnt his trade in the Championship, not a European Premiership club who will have to work hard to maintain it.

Lillehamring Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Milan has to be careful in my opinion. Going for Ince is a big risk and it could backfire.I think it's clear that Grayson wants the job. But would he want it after being second favourite? If Ince does reject us, which I think he will. I hope we've not scared Grayson off in the process. But, if you beleive some of the quotes from Walsh, he is incredibly keen. it seems odd that so many people on here are assuming that because Ince has been mentioned in the press he is MM's first choice, and that if he says 'no', any other person will immediately be considered as next best, the only official stance from MM is that he is narrowing the candidates down to 4 or 5, who he will then talk to (the implicaation being that they have either applied for the position or are prepared to be considered) and make a decision as to who he feels is the best man for the job. whilst he may have a favourite in his mind, as it stands, any of the 4 or 5 in his shortlist are merely applicants for the same post. the fact that ince's name has come up is not because he is a necessarily a first choice but because MKdons/ince's agent want this fact to be know. based on this, one could guess that the other shortlisted applicants are currently unconnected to a club...

Agreed there could well have been 4 or 5 approaches but the other clubs haven't gone public, or there is not need as the person has no club.
wurmer Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Ince won't be coming to Leicester, even if he turns down the Blackburn job (if it is even being offered). The papers are so full of shite at the moment. If I'm wrong about Ince, I'll eat all my toenail clippings.
eaststandtom Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 What's history got to do with it? Did history win us a cup and promotion this season...no it didn't. Forget it and think of now. tbf to you pal i think it would be very dirty of city to pinch another manager from you guys. i think allen was given permission tbf to us and i would imagine your chairman would sanction thing s to go through proper channels if he decides to. however, i think simon grayson is our best bet if poss. i can imagne ince could come here, do well, then attract another club and we want a long term manager and i think grayson can fit the bill even if he does well we would have more a chance keeping him here. mk dons aren't taken seriously it seems by many football fans for their formation which is odd as we all support commercial and financially obsessed club interested in making money 1st. i wish mk dons well as they seem to be building a reputation in their own rite lets not forget citys administration and how hated we were and still are nationally and locally as a result of that! as for citys history we are now on a level playing field with mk dons and yeovil and stockport and deserve to be for the first time in our history. lets not make out we are real madrid we are an english 3rd tier team

Daggers Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Agreed there could well have been 4 or 5 approaches but the other clubs haven't gone public, or there is not need as the person has no club. None of the previous 'approaches' were publicised in the media and they haven't stated which clubs they were even now. There has to be a bigger reason behind publishing this information on their club website.

There has to be a bigger reason behind publishing this information on their club website. To demonstrate their own ambition and Ince's loyalty perhaps? Bigger club approaches new club MK Dons, who can then be seen to be good enough not to stand in the way of their ambitious young manager's career aims, who in turn decides to stay at the club and demonstrate that actually he thiks his ambitions can be attained there and that they are a serious football club. Could this just be a massive PR exercise by Peter Winckleman? Taking advantage of what could be construed as Mandaric's over ambition at this level? May be a little far-fetched, but then again, Winckleman hasn't made his fortune by being thick.

RedOnRed Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Within the past 24 hours we've just signed a new player and some contracts are starting to be extended or cancelled which would all be very odd if the manager was leaving.
