Bigger club approaches new club MK Dons, who can then be seen to be good enough not to stand in the way of their ambitious young manager's career aims, who in turn decides to stay at the club and demonstrate that actually he thiks his ambitions can be attained there and that they are a serious football club. Could this just be a massive PR exercise by Peter Winckleman? Taking advantage of what could be construed as Mandaric's over ambition at this level? May be a little far-fetched, but then again, Winckleman hasn't made his fortune by being thick.

If we're talking conspiracy theories, I've heard Mandaric's known who Holloway's replacement will be since just before the end of the season. Said man is currently on holiday and will be appointed when he gets back. The approach of Ince, among others rumoured, is a ploy by Mandaric to make it look like he's looked at several different options.

Within the past 24 hours we've just signed a new player and some contracts are starting to be extended or cancelled which would all be very odd if the manager was leaving.

Our chairman does that all the while, even our Chief Exec has said players will be allowed to leave before we get a manager if the price is right, we have also dished out new contracts as will many clubs do in order to protect their players value - sometimes it has very little to do with the manager.

Yes. Bruno N'Gotty (I think?). Just before we got Martin Allen, We certainly signed someone just before announcing Martin Allen, Milan Mandaric even admitted this at his "Clear the air" meeting with the fans after Martin Allen was sacked.

Fair enough it's the other way round, A manager coming into the club not a manager leaving but a similar circumstance.

You mean apart from the huge difference in wages paid, finance for signings, current talent on the books (under performing though), facilities, fans etc... No matter how much others don't like it we are vastly superior to all teams except Leeds in this league. It doesn't mean we will do well, as has been proved this season, but you can't possibly say it's a level playing field with our resources.

it seems odd that so many people on here are assuming that because Ince has been mentioned in the press he is MM's first choice, and that if he says 'no', any other person will immediately be considered as next best, the only official stance from MM is that he is narrowing the candidates down to 4 or 5, who he will then talk to (the implicaation being that they have either applied for the position or are prepared to be considered) and make a decision as to who he feels is the best man for the job.

whilst he may have a favourite in his mind, as it stands, any of the 4 or 5 in his shortlist are merely applicants for the same post.

the fact that ince's name has come up is not because he is a necessarily a first choice but because MKdons/ince's agent want this fact to be know. based on this, one could guess that the other shortlisted applicants are currently unconnected to a club...

Why would he want to come to us now, if he rejected us when we were in the Championship?

Spending money alone doesn't necessarily win you success, as you no doubt found out last season. We've got plenty of talent on our books and decent facilities with a ground based on Benfica's - sunken below ground level and with a concourse going all round the inside of it. It's also got an attached conference centre and a hotel planned and we've very good training facilities and academy.

Nah, it's sunken slightly below ground level and has a concourse. When you walk through the turnstiles you enter the concourse with toilets and cafes which goes all the way round. You are then also at the top of the lower tier which you then walk down onto. Oh, and every single seat is cushioned. I think only Arsenal does that too.

You might just have to take a quick drive down the M1 when we play you and take a look.

for sure, i have absolutely no doubt mandaric knows who he can get and who he would prefer, and ince would be reasonably certain to top the list.

- i'm sure other clubs would only reveal an approach if they felt there was some benefit to them to do so, god forbid that the other four are without a club at the current time...
