i've never tried the comination of drinking alcohol whilst reading a novel. Surely it defeats the object?

Some say alcohol an have an effect on reading and spelling... :P

But no, on the whole, my imagination improves tremendously. And I only tend to read autobiographies, so I don't have to 'visualise' too much.

Currently checking out Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and the surronding areas of Botswanna, Nambia and Zambia possibly Mozambique. Any one been (Monk i'm looking at you) only know one person who has been and they loved it. Wildlife parks, White water rafting and my what intrest me is Booze cruise on the Zambezi :D

Looking to go there before the world cup so we are already in Africa saving the hassle of getting to South Africa at the start of the Tournament.

Generally getting excited about next year as the rough plan is. Flighing out of Melbourne via Singapore or Malyasia staying a couple of night's there. Week around Victoria Falls. 2 and half in South Africa World cup time. Week around England followed by a week in Ireland.

Then 7 week Contiki tour of Europe. Then If money permitting Oktoberfest as should be around that time. Followed by Leicester.

Even more excited that 8 of my mates are now booked and paid for the South Afica part and are possibility of doing parts of Europe with me......2010 is going to be a quality year.

Sounds like you have a quality trip in the planning. Tanzania will be my first time in Africa so I can't help you I'm afraid. However, I can recommend checking out what trains run in those countries at www.seat61.com - often an eye opening way to see a country.

Also looking at tours about 150 african tours with Kamuka which are well priced. Some of the places look so good 1000 times different to what we have here. Never would of thought i would ever go to Africa but it justs looks out of this world so primitive and natural hope it doesn't dissapoint......nor does my brother (need to make sure he drags him self away from his missus long enough)

Only had a brief look but i can see why you picked Tanzania looks very intresting with everything you need.....hope you go to Zanzibar aswell as that looks awesome.

Nah, I don't think we will go as far north as Kili. Going to check out Zanzibar and head south I think. Really fancy seeing Chimps in the wild and some of the less traversed national parks and tribes. I'm not totally sure yet, need to read up on it all to decide a route... but the flight is booked... and it conveniently means I start taking Malaria medication the day after the Windsor half.

You could do that at Leicester's top nighspot, the scabby women that go there would be more than happy for you to head south I'm sure..

My brother's off to barca on saturday but thankfully he's ignorant when it comes to news so hopefully wont be shitting himself the whole time he's there.

bit worrying though int it, are these the ones that did the madrid train bombings?
