Zingari Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Therefore the right man for the job is one that feels they can put up with Mandaric's continually interference and unrealistic expectations. true yes he's surely under no illusions as to what is expected of him brave man , come on Nige , time to kick some ass
Poakey Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 ... I really do wish that all you idiots coming on here talkng about how crap Nigel Pearson will be would go away (I'm being a bit more polite for the sake of our younger viewers).I don't care about win ratios, I don't care about who he has or hasn't managed. I actually care about very little to do with Leicester City at the minute. However I refuse to sit back and watch yet another display of brain dead posting from people who should take a look in the mirror when they wonder why this club is a mess. F**k off (being polite didn't last long) with your negativity. Apathy I can deal with but berating the man before he's even stepped through the door is ridiculous and more damaging to the club than a lot of you realise. Get off your happy-go-lucky-smiling-everything's gonna be ok-high horses.Negativity is the new positivity. Everything's shit. Deal with it. John Gregory.
Zingari Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 i like sausage rolls. is there a sausage rolling contract
andyh1884 Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 On opinions despite "the Orange" nto seemingly liking it...I would of prefered a lower level manger (ala the Martin George days) Our record then was decent whehter it were Little, McGhee or O'Neill At league 1 surely we could of afforded ourselves this chance for an up and coming manager?? Martin Ling would of been a shout for example. I just dont see that Pearson is "the right man for the job" No manager (up-and-coming or otherwise) is going to leave their job to come and work for Milan. He's got a very long record of binning off managers without a second thought. It's not a particularly attractive prospect is it? Instant success or you're on your way? No thanks sunshine. The fact Ince rejected us should be an indicator of that. The fact some decent managers who are currently out of work would rather stay that way than manage us should also tell you that.
MPH Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 is there a sausage rolling contract give frank Rolling a contract?
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm going to cycle to Greggs and get me some of their pies for lunch. Yum.
James. Posted 20 June 2008 Author Posted 20 June 2008 Poakey you've just posted two of my posts next two each other. Please could you explain what your point is?
Poakey Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Poakey you've just posted two of my posts next two each other. Please could you explain what your point is? Youre 1st post slating negativity on here, the 1 below it slating positivity on here. Make your mind up.
James. Posted 20 June 2008 Author Posted 20 June 2008 Youre 1st post slating negativity on here, the 1 below it slating positivity on here.Make your mind up. If you're not willing to make the effort to think about what I've said and when I've said it then I don't see why I should bother explaining. But just for you I will... The first post still stands. Apart from the John Gregory bit. This was a comment relating to the running of our club by Mandaric. Which up to now has been shambolic. The second post is a plea for Leicester fans not to turn on Pearson before he even walks through the door. See, simple. Personally I think you're just on here trying to catch me out. Better luck next time. edit: got my 1st and 2nd the wrong way round, you know what I mean!
Thracian Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm not blown away by this. Not at all. As I said though I'm just not particularly bothered either way. Mandaric has f**ked us about so much I'm left feeling disillusioned with everything to do with the club. All I'm doing is standing up for Pearson and his right to be given a fair crack at the job without being abused before he even speaks his first word as our manager. It's easy for people who are "disillusioned" about the club and "not particularly bothered" to stand bodyguard for anyone but some of us who do care are left wondering how a guy with such a an undistinguished record over 10 years can suddenly become the most important managerial appointment Mandaric has made in his time at the club. Doubtless building from the back starts today and as my first gesture of constructive support I've got a van load of 8 x 4 boards if he needs em. Manwell will presumably chip in with his list of available loanees? Yes the phoenix that is Leicester City may at long last start to rise. But will it go up in glory or in smoke? Anyone with the club's interests at heart will wish Pearson well. But he was a long way down many people's list of preferred options and not on mine at all. That makes his task all the harder because it shows just how much notice the club takes of the fans. There's hope in that some people respond to a challenge. But with such obscene pay-offs being made for failure and Pearson's managerial record so far I remain sceptical. Fez and friends will doubtless remind me of that scepticism if we go top of the League. However, this is Division One we're playing in. Mid table will be mediocrity as it should have been last year in truth. For me top six is a more than fair target for the guy given the woeful circumstances he's starting out with, psychologically. I'd like to think top six with goals and a bit of style but I'm well aware the dourists will take anything if it wins points.

I get your point...however, I would say that if we appoint another inexperienced bloke into the city hotseat its a risky strategy - I'm starting to think that Milan, entrepreneur extraordinaire as he is, knows sweet FA about football (no pun intended) - for me, if Davies didnt want it and Gregory is a willy puller, then Worthington would be the right man to come into the job and to develop the youth.

I've deleted the rest because I've heard it all before. And I think you know as well as anyone why we have a manager "with such a an undistinguished record over 10 years". It's because this club is owned by Mandaric. I blame him for my apathy. Of course I'll still go to games and sing and stand and shout and be loyal blah blah blah. But right now I feel like Mandaric has sapped me of all that through putting us through one mistake after another. But this thread isn't about Mandaric, it's about Pearson and what he deserves. Although speaking to someone who called for Worthington to be sacked after 1 game suggests I may as well be talking to a brick wall.

Webbo Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Therefore the right man for the job is one that feels they can put up with Mandaric's continually interference and unrealistic expectations. The fact that it's taken this long to appoint a man who's been out of work since the end of the season tell you all you need to know. He's obviously the only candidate desperate enough to put up with MM constant interference. I want to be positive, I really do. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed with an appointment in 30 odd years of supporting this club.
James. Posted 20 June 2008 Author Posted 20 June 2008 I want to be positive, I really do. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed with an appointment in 30 odd years of supporting this club. Fair enough. As you allude to it's quite simply a reflection of our recent performance and our owner. I'm not even really asking for positivity. I'm not positive. I just want the guy to be given a chance.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Out of interest, who would you like to have seen take over the manager's role? God! Here we go...
Thracian Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Out of interest, who would you like to have seen take over the manager's role? My views are well documented on that subject but we've got Pearson now and it sounds like he'll need some support judging by what Mandaric's already trying to do to him.
andyh1884 Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 God!Here we go... It's ok, I don't expect a response, I was just intrigued to know who he'd have liked bearing in mind how painfully apparent it is that no-one wanted to manage us. Well, I got one, but it doesn't seem to feature any names. Just that it's well documented. Shame, I have things to do other scour through the back-catalogue

Phew! For a minute I could see a thread descending into another debate about the relative merits of Sheehan.

Ultra Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 And so the lobotomised can include ones who sing too - as Barton so eloquently pointed out, we have the stupidest bunch of supporters in the country. Why, just because we failed to recognise commitment, creativity and all-round genius provided by the mighty Stephen Hughes? You'll have to come up with better sources than that.
