Sparky Posted 29 June 2008 Author Posted 29 June 2008 Anybody? Its all about somebody organising it , unfortunatly i have ne got the time
General Smuts Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Its all about somebody organising it , unfortunatly i have ne got the time Itd need someone with all the equiptment - ie bails stumps, set of pads and cups and bats. Venues not a problem, the college at groby has a cricket pitch that no one will mind us using and for free too. Then a date can be set.
The People's Hero Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I'm a bit non-plussed about all this to be honest. If it's not organised correctly, it'll be a sham. Still, I'll turn up and drink...

Guest Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Or will just take over grace road We could do a lot better, and be more entertaining.
Scow Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 We could do a lot better, and be more entertaining. Unfortunately you can't bring your own booze.
Guest Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Unfortunately you can't bring your own booze. You can if it is not Twenty20.
General Smuts Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Groby was just a 'if all else fails' to be honest someone needs to be enthusiastic enough to organise it properly. Twas Sparky's idea and hes said himself hell turn up but not organise it which is the same boat most of us are in.
Tevez Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I think I could ask someone who is a Groundsman at a Cricket Club near me. Got a bar and everything..

AoWW Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Remember guys, I was voted Umpire of the season in 2001. Weren't you, like, 10 then?
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Will be in if its after July 25th Not organising not got the time.
The People's Hero Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Will be in if its after July 25thNot organising not got the time. This will be a lot more difficult to organise than football seeing as you really actually need to have a real captain this time around, equipment etc, please there are health and safety issues obviously. Is a club really going to allow us to use their ground? I'd have thought they'd be reluctant as we're not a real side etc etc etc.
Daggers Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I'm thinking this has dragged on long enough; I need to commit to weekends so I'm out.
The People's Hero Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Let me tell you where I am. You've got the nugget of a good idea, but I'm not sure it's scaleable. I just don't think there's enough of a market for this idea to generate any serious interest from myself or other heavyweights like Daggers. It's a good idea, but that's all it is - you've not got the organisation and I couldn't work with you. I won't be investing my childrens' inheritance. I'm Out.

The People's Hero Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Aie!My Mom says I'm big boned. Personally, I thought your bone was not only on the dissappointing side in terms of size, but also one of the worst smelling I've ever come across... Oo-err.
Sparky Posted 2 July 2008 Author Posted 2 July 2008 To be honest i thought it was a big ask , if you read my 1st post im asking the question whether its possible to organise . I certainly have not got the time to commit to organising and others are in the same boat . Think we had better stick to the footy
