Thracian Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 I'd play - my last match was very civilised with loaded barrels of cider to mark the boundary! Simplistic style - no defensive shots!
Father Ted Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 I've already suggested rugby sevens to Masters. Ooooohhh... I would be interested. But I don't think it would be possible on the safe side.
Finnegan Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 What's unsafe about sevens? If I was asking for a game of 15s with full contact rucking, mauling, etc and contested scrums then I could understand your concerns. But sevens? One step up from tag, mate! A two minute explanation on How-To-Tackle-And-Not-Break-Your-Collar-Bone at the start would do it. Sparky could demonstrate on, say, LD3... purely for my amusement.

Finnegan Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Worth the admission price alone. Yeah, seriously. Masters might not be that much taller ( ) but I'm willing to bet there's a bit more on his bones.
Tommeh Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Albert and Tommeh would be in for this aswell. No I wouldn't. Cricket is shite end of. I'm sure loft shares this view too.
Katy Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Is this just for boring lads again? Because I can bowl like a demon.
Finnegan Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Is this just for boring lads again? Because I can bowl like a demon. Put your name down, tbh. I can kinda understand the logic behind single-sex football (whether I agree or not), but a non-combat sport? Pfff. Go for it, you've gotta be better than me.

Can't get anymore injured than I did whilst being in goal for the Foxes Trust Tourneys.
Daggers Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Leather on willow, flagons of ale served by buxom ladies in the pavilion, afternoon tea - I'm in.
Sods Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Id play for the under 21's. I regulary play so wont be too bad. I want to see TPH at this though
RowlattsFox Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 I'd be up for this, I played for my dads team a few times as a 15 year old, well i was forced too. I wasn't very good but that was donw to being scared and nervous but I did manage to get 1 wicket and 1 run in my breif spell in the team, I was ok with my school team. That was all a few years ago mind. My best point was my fielding, potential wicket-keeper.

Finnegan Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 What'd be wrong with a game of 15's? 1. Getting 30+ interested people. 2. Appropriate positioning. 3. Teaching them the rules. 4. Finding a ref. 5. Giving them some basics on tactics. 7. Unpracticed contested scrums. 8. A complete mess at every break-down.
Guest Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 I've always fancied the idea of keeping wicket. It's the fact that most wicket keepers are short-arsed mouthy sods, I kind of feel there's a niche for me. SF will also play. I said so.
Sparky Posted 22 June 2008 Author Posted 22 June 2008 Anyone fancy organising this star studded event ?

blue blood Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 im in. i can bowl a nice line and length...my batting is ok nothing special but if you want to get me out - over my dead body! I suppose i am a cross between curtley ambrose and boycott. i suppose you could call me curtley boycott!
syston_fox Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Yeah count me in - Never played a real game before but I'll give it a go!
