I emailed the club a couple of weeks ago.

One of Greece's top goalkeepers is up for sale, very very cheap.

It's a complicated scenario, but the basis is that he was due to sign for Olympiakos after being there on loan all last season, but now they are playing games over the price and the owning club OFI Crete want more than the 350,000 euros offered.

This keeper is sensational, noted as one of the hottest talents in Greek football, and should be valued at more than 1 million euros.

The owning club OFI Crete have money troubles, and Olympiakos are trying to exploit that with their silly offer, however a more realistic offer of 500,000 euros would probably seal it.

That is an absolute steal for such a talented player. £400,000 ... just silly money in today's inflated market.

Last summer he has trials at Lazio and Marsielle, but opted for the loan deal at Olympiakos pending a permenent move, now that has fallen through.

The Olympiakos deal is dead in the water, and the player is back at OFI but is not going on the pre season tour as he wants a move ASAP.

Like I said, I emailed the club about this, as young quality like this is just what we need. This guy will end up being Greece's number one goalkeeper, and already has full International caps.

I have no personal interest in this apart from the betterment of our team and getting the hell out of lower league football.

If anyone here has contact with the club try and give them a heads up on this player.

Someone is going to get a bargain, why should'nt it be us for once??!

Saw this guy play for Greece U21 a while back....very commanding, good reflexes. Would be a great signing (if he's consistent), but pretty sure some European club will snap him up, stick him in the reserves until he's broken & returns home to Greece deflated & 30.

Still, if only eh?

Lightning doesn't strike twice, and whilst we completed the coup of signing Tunchev under similar circumstances, why would someone so promising who has been playing at a good European club choose to come to the third tier of English football?

Would be great, but it won't happen.

hey sounds awesome, we have money, ambition and certainly bigger than his current club. Lets have a go, everyone contact city. We need a quality goalkeeper.

I like Paul Henderson!!!

He deserves the number 1 jersey after his performance based on the back end of last season. Anyone now will fear him when stepping up to take a penalty!

Mack, did you get a response from the club? I bet all they said was that they will take it on board. The End, shame because he's cheap and sounds like a talent.

Yes mate,

I got a standardised reply saying thank's for your interest in LCFC blah blah and that was that.

As for he will go elsewhere, I think he would jump at the chance to get on the ladder in English football.

The wage we would offer him would be much better than he is on now, and if he plays well with us he will either get promoted and be one level off the prem with us or worse scenario we are sure to get a handsome profit on him.

Seems a no brainer to me.

Well as long as we have 2 or 3 penalties against us every week and no corners or free-kicks we'll be alright then.

I think that letting in 5 goals on Saturday against what is basically a pub team shows that we need new goalies.

Nothing could be further from the truth in fact.

This is a European player for one.

Second, he has played for Greece and Olympiakos, and is tried and tested in European football.

Third, he speaks English.

Fourth, there is a long track record of Greek players coming to England and doing very well indeed, you dont have to look beyond our club to find that.

Fifth, he is undervalued currently, meaning the risk is exremely low.

Sixth, he has had trials as a youngster at Lazio, Marsielle and Birmingham city and had serious interest.

Seventh, he is a loyal player and dedicated individual, I can say that as I know people who know him. He signed a three year deal with OFI when he could have walked to Olympiakos on a free because he loves his hometown club and wanted to ensure they got a good fee for him.

Eighth, he is a goalkeeper not an attacking player, and in my opinion goalkeeping abilities transfer more readily to different leagues that outfield play and paces.

Ninth, this guy is young, honest, keen and ambitious, everything we need in new players coming to the club if we are going to escape this mire.

Tenth, he needs a break. The Olympiakos thing has stalled leaving him a little stranded, OFI have already replaced him as they understand he future is upwards and away from them, the timing is perfect.
