Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 The Sun states we have asked for £2,000,000 for the talent that is James Scowcroft. Having a laugh Micky, please just try and get over him.

87fox Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 That's crazy - I would take £1mil. How much did we pay for him? £3m?
gagandeep Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 That's crazy - I would take £1mil. How much did we pay for him? £3m? yeah, another "shrewd" taylor signing.
Ricey Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 "The Sun states we have asked for £2,000,000 for the talent that is James Scowcroft." Hmm I doubt this is true but if it is then Micky has lost the plot totally!
Cobbo Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 Yes, please realise that the story is in The Sun and probably utter bollocks.
dan_84 Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 if he is worth 2million after the season he had last. imagine how much he'd be worth if he had a good season. Real Madrid would be making us an offer. The transfer market makes me laugh sometimes, how can scowcroft warrent 2 million and Dickov only £250000? I reckon i must be worth a mill or two.
Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Author Posted 12 July 2004 Crazee. We put all these clauses in GOOD players contracts for them to for nothing really, and then Micky requests 2 million for arguably our worst player last season. I question his sanity sometimes.
dan_84 Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 Leicester City always have been a bit weird. i mite offer the club a 10 er to see if tommy wright will come and play for my sunday league team. wot u reckon? do u think it'l be accepted? Theres crap goal keepers going for good money, then with our club we have a wales international who we accept a bid of £25.000. thats just crazy!

Steven Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 I think if the face does not fit, then MA will let you go for cheap money and if it fits, then he asks silly money.
dan_84 Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 to be fair to micky i dont think its him who sorts the contracts out. i think its Dave Bassett to be honest. if we need to get people off the wage bill maybe we should start at the top, and get rid of bassett. lets face it what does he actually do??
Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Author Posted 12 July 2004 I've said get rid of Bassett for months! I think they have one of them relationships though, like Micky and Scowcroft. Impossible to break up
gagandeep Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 I've said get rid of Bassett for months! I think they have one of them relationships though, like Micky and Scowcroft. Impossible to break up i can rememebr micky saying, "i hope this seaon(04/05) i can get my own players in" i think this is a dig at dave basset. a club like us does not need a director of football, whats the point?
dan_84 Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 if we go up then i wont complain but until then my faith is wearing a bit thin. im a little more optamistic tho than i was a week or two ago tho. Adams has bin slated for buyin old players again, but iv got a feeling he signed the 3 golden oldies (dublin, wilcox, and tiatto) to build a team around. with the likes of williams signing and us bein linked with that derby lad, partridge, Richardson, and even connelly to a certain extent, 27 should be round his prime.
Scow Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 I wouldn't take any notice of this story - There is no way we would be requesting £2 Million. 500k is more realistic. And as other people have pointed out, it's from The Sun, so the whole situation is probably bullshit.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 Delia will have to write another cook book to find that money for scowey - no harm in asking mind, you might just get it! Personally i like scowy, i think he's a decent player and key to micky's plans of putting a tall chap against a small left or right back - only trouble is there weren't that many small left or right backs in the prem.

My god, praise of Scowcroft! You're welcome around here mate.
