Guest Posted 22 July 2008 Posted 22 July 2008 I want to eat at yours!I've heard the steak pie you make is legendary. You are more than welcome to sample the delights of my steak pie, just say when. It wasn't an 'Olive Garden' was it? We found one on I Drive. It might be a chain, but it was the best Italian I've ever had. I did spot one of those but we went to a place called The Italian Courtyard. Everything about this place was good.
Alexikokopops Posted 22 July 2008 Posted 22 July 2008 Haha. I know exactly where you mean. I lived at the other end of Christchurch towards the town centre. There used to be a well nice Indian on the end of that little row called Devana but I think it turned into a cafe or something. Is Medina kebabs still there? That place have me food poisoning in the 1st year. Bastards. I relied on the kebab van parked just across the road from then on. Also have you discovered Mandela Court yet??!! The kebab van that's always parked in the layby near Sainsburys (in the petrol station)/KFC/Tesco Metro? I pass that every day on my way to work. I'm not sure about Medina Kebab's, that might be the same kebab house cross the road. It apparently has cockroaches. What's Mandela Court?!

Ask any student that has lived in Reading for longer than 6 months what Mandela Court (or Mandela's / Mandy's) is and you'll find out!

Well they've certainly not spent any of the money earned from extortionate food prices on the up-keep of the place, last time I went it was an absolute wreck. I don't think those walls have seen a lick of paint in over a century. Absolute disgrace.

I used to fly into a rage when the bus went through there on the way to Uni NO ONE LIVES IN KENILWORTH! ....but it's fool school week at the Castle. Next week is 'how to be a knight and kill dirty foreigners and the humourless' week. Brilliant holiday fun for the kids. But I'll be taking a damn picnic tomorrow.

Or for the pretentious, cuisine al fresco Picnics are brilliant. Will you take something for the ants? And the wasps? Can't have a picnic without ants and wasps! I proposed to my wife at a picnic.

Can't have a picnic without ants and wasps! I proposed to my wife at a picnic. My mate got an awesome 1950s picnic set from his boyfriend for his birthday, it's fantastic. We had a picnic down by the Thames one sunny day. I felt suitably prentious while sitting there eating some salad and sipping Japanese tea.
