lookwhaticando Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Where's the option for "What's a 'goal' - it's been so long since I seen one!" option?
General Smuts Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 30 goals for the season hero is goin to be the staplezilla. BELIEVE!
Father Ted Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Last season didn't most of our odd goals came from McAuley(whos gone), Stearman(also gone) and Kisnorbo(out til dec/jan?) so we'll be relying on our strikers and the new wingers to get all our goals this season.. unless N'Gotty's finally going to score and Hellings is going to show he could have kept us up last season Yes, but Tunchev has a very good goalscoring record from set-pieces, as does Morrison. And as Thracian goalscoring points system thingy works, it would probably show that we're more likely to score this year than last year.
Joe. Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 No. If any of them get 20 I'll be very surprised. I think there will be a fair bit of rotation between Howard, Fryatt, Campbell and even Chambers, with them all getting a fair crack at the first team, but I just can't see any of them possessing the abilities to get us that many goals.
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 30 goals for the season hero is goin to be the staplezilla. I remember when Thracian wished to nick name him King Kong, highley amusing. I reagards to this I really don't care, they should all be good enough to score a decent amount of goals in this league.
Ultra Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Gradel and Dyer look like being the top scorers this season. I wouldn't trust Campbell, Howard or Fryatt to reach double figures.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 30 goals for the season hero is goin to be the staplezilla. I just hope he's mobile, not stationary! I'll leave the jokes to, I don't know, Freddie Starr in the future.
General Smuts Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 I just hope he's mobile, not stationary!I'll leave the jokes to, I don't know, Freddie Starr in the future. *chuckles* I still believe if he got a run at the first team of even coming off the bench for 20ish games that Sappleton will score bucketloads this season.

I think he is probably ready to make the step up. Loads of people have been saying that apparently we need a "big bastard" up front. I think Sappleton could be that bastard.
Joe. Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 I have a feeling this year will be the exact opposite of last season and we'll ending up scoring a lot and conceding a lot. I really hope Fryatt proves me wrong this season, I really do.
SamL Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 Gradel and Dyer look like being the top scorers this season.I wouldn't trust Campbell, Howard or Fryatt to reach double figures. Nicky Adams looks as though he might get a few this season. I've got a feeling one of our current strikers will shine this season, I'm not sure which though.

Thracian Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Howard (if he stays) 21 Campbell 17 Fryatt 14 Gradel 10+ Dyer 9 Porter 6 New striker (if Howard leaves) 18 Sundries: 8 Total goals 85.
Finn Claw Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Get the best out of Howard and DJ and they could easily get 20 each, potentially fryatt too. As much as Sappleton has become the new Gradel I'd send him out on loan to a league 2 side, get him playing regularly. Chambers for his pace would be my super-sub. Depends on how adventurous the midfield is and whether we resort to hoof ball all season. For one of our strikers to get 20+ I'd say my glass is about 3/4 full

BlabyFox Posted 30 July 2008 Posted 30 July 2008 i have a good feeling about fryatt hitting 20. he has lost 1/2 stone and is scoring a lot in pre season
