acooling08 Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 With the new midfileders (adams & Dyer) and the inclusion of gradel surely there will be more oppurtunities for our strikers to score. Also with us being in league 1 the defending of oppisition sides will surely be poorer- giving more chances for strikers to score. So do you think we have a 20 goal a season man in our current strikers for next season? If yes, then who? Also if yes, say which striker.
billyfox1 Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Howard shit's goals at this level.FACT. That could have been said when he came back down to the championship. But he didn't...FACT
Ashley Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 I can see Fryatt getting a fair few goals this season, dont ask me why I can just see it. Leicester to win the league on record points and fryatt top goal scorer, I wonder what the odds would be
Austin Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 That could have been said when he came back down to the championship. But he didn't...FACT Never did I suggest he'd bang them in at Championship level, I stated that at this Level "Division 3" - League one, His scoring record isn't half bad at all .. FACT.

I know you didn't, but his scoring record in the championship wasn't that bad until he signed for us. Hopefully i'm wrong and he scores week in week out. (although his missed pen last night didn't renew my faith in him )

(although his missed pen last night didn't renew my faith in him ) Arguably your correct, Although his strikerate in league one is much better, i guess it's probably more down to the fact he's aged since then too, ahh well You and me both buddy, Fingers crossed eh'

J.Lisemore Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 I just hope a club takes Steve Howard of us...he shown he still cant hack it against the likes of Luton last night
Simi Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Matty Fryatt will score 30 goals easily. He's our best natural finisher and given a chance and a run in the team he will be dynamite.
Unabomber Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 I dont think we have close to a 20 goal a season man, even though our strikers have scored many at this level previously.

renards Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 What baffles me is that for some reason as we are in a lower league it's expected that we will score more goals. Are the goals bigger at this level? We had a massive problem hitting the target (betwen the posts and below the cross bar) last season, why would are shooting be any more acutate now

Blatantly.
Alexikokopops Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 I think you need to learn what sarcasm is as well as irony.
blue blood Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 30 goals for the season hero is goin to be the staplezilla.
J.Lisemore Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 but he did hit the bar... must ov had the game ov his life then
billyfox1 Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 but he did hit the bar... I play in defence and and hit he bar every week. I'm certainly no striker Nothing like a nice cold refreshing beer after a game.
Father Ted Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 I reckon Howard, especially with Gradel, Dyer and Adams feeding him I reckon he could get ~20. Fryatt, if he starts regularly and bags a couple he will be a 15-20 goal man. Aswell as Chambers (Ashley) adding 5-10 and Dyer, Gradel, Adams and Porter all chipping in off the wings I think their is at least 50-60 goals there MINIMUM and with everyone else chipping in the odd goal...

Last season didn't most of our odd goals came from McAuley(whos gone), Stearman(also gone) and Kisnorbo(out til dec/jan?) so we'll be relying on our strikers and the new wingers to get all our goals this season.. unless N'Gotty's finally going to score and Hellings is going to show he could have kept us up last season
