smokey Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 Is clemence staying as captain for this season????? Yes i think so, Oakley is just the temp captain. I find it very strange though how theres hardly been a mention of Clemence in the Mercury or on the OS all pre-season, no interveiws or nothing, dont even know when he is due back!!
J.Lisemore Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 anyone know when clem is coming back from injury then?
Thracian Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 anyone know when clem is coming back from injury then? No but Ashley Chambers might well be out for 10 weeks.
Jimmy Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 No buit Ashley Chambers might well be out for 10 weeks. that it? that's pretty quick for a broken ankle
Corky Posted 10 August 2008 Posted 10 August 2008 anyone know when clem is coming back from injury then? If we are doing well he may not get a look-in. Oakley and King looked quite solid together, and Weso and Kishishev are ahead of Clemence.
SemperEadem Posted 10 August 2008 Posted 10 August 2008 Oakley should stay as captain he really comanded and directed players something I have never seen Clemence do.

Really...I saw Michael Morrison do more gestures and talking for the team on Saturday. Oakley showed me he is no captain last season when Clem went off, he handed Oakley the armband and he then dismissed it and handed it to Kisnorbo.

Oakley showed me he is no captain last season when Clem went off, he handed Oakley the armband and he then dismissed it and handed it to Kisnorbo. That's not necessarily a bad thing... It's just a social thing, Oakley probably felt that he was behind Kisnorbo in the pecking order and didn't want to look like he wanted it at the expense of Kisnorbo. Morrison has captain of the future written all over him.
Messi Posted 11 August 2008 Posted 11 August 2008 It did look pretty easy for Oakley on saturday, but Morrison looked very good
Scow Posted 11 August 2008 Posted 11 August 2008 Morrison has captain of the future written all over him. He does indeed - that's probably one of the reasons Pearson opted for Morrison over Hobbs. He seemed to be vocal, which was important with Tunchev learning the language and adapting to the league.
