Alexikokopops Posted 8 April 2005 Posted 8 April 2005 http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Stor..._395902,00.html Levein predicts Slovak influxLeicester manager Craig Levein believes striker Jani Sturm could be the first of several Slovenian imports to The Walkers Stadium. Levein is hoping the 23-year-old Sturm will join the Foxes during the summer after a fee was agreed with Slovenian side ND Goric. And the City supremo said: "He's a young striker and one we think we can mould into a very good player. "We've been looking everywhere for players and the Slovenian market is relatively untapped. "We feel he's got a lot of potential but is one for the future. "We aren't worried too much about racing him into the first-team just now."

Tomassi Posted 8 April 2005 Posted 8 April 2005 interesting.. i think Craig is showing good business sense here in the fact that Slovenia does have a fair few good players which have not been aquired by clubs in this league.. Also Slovenia has shown they are another up and coming nation as the past euros and world cups has shown
Louise Posted 8 April 2005 Posted 8 April 2005 Personally I think its just new spin on an old interview.
C-man Posted 8 April 2005 Posted 8 April 2005 I would rather have young homegrown players instead of unknown slovenians
step Posted 8 April 2005 Posted 8 April 2005 We would all like some home grown. but its a bit early in the year.
shen Posted 8 April 2005 Posted 8 April 2005 Is he Slovakian or Slovenian then? 89793[/snapback] Slovenian
Anish Posted 9 April 2005 Posted 9 April 2005 What's the point signing Sturn if CL isn't interested in rushing him into the first team. We need a scorer, and quick!
