Thracian Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Leicester City are past masters of making a nonsense of bookmaker's odds when it comes to challenging for a title. However, such has been the impression created by their start so far that their odds have shotened still further after the opening three fixtures, including the one in the cup. Mark Jarvis now has the League One title odds: 11-4 Leeds, 4-1 City, 10-1 Peterborough, Carlisle, 12-1 MK Dons, 16-1 Southend, Oldham. Not bad for a team which traditionally seems to start badly but much more a compliment to Pearson for his work so far in changing the emphasis of our from dour defence to fairly committed attack. What's pleased me most is that there's been no swaggering around by the team. They've fixed their minds on the task and their determination to win back possession really quickly has been a feaure. If that continues no-one will get an easy ride and our next big task will be to break down what may prove to be increasingly packed defences. http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...982008292265731
The People's Hero Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Probably the most important shotening since John Lennon and JFK were 'shotened'.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Mark Jarvis now has the League One title odds: 11-4 Leeds, 4-1 City, 10-1 Peterborough, Carlisle, 12-1 MK Dons, 16-1 Southend, Oldham. 4-1 was better than i got on City at the start of the season - i feel robbed!
Flynny Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Not bad for a team which traditionally seems to start badly but much more a compliment to Pearson for his work so far in changing the emphasis of our from dour defence to fairly committed attack. Make your mind up!
Houdini Logic Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 I have some Dollar on 14-1 Leicester 1st and Leeds 2nd. I feel it's as safe a bet as the 4-1 for Leicester to win the league, because let's be honest - if Leicester win the league there's only one position Leeds are going to finish.
Brainy Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Im guessing i'm the only one who thought this was something to do with the City kit..

We are favourites I did tell everyone to get their money on us before the season started when we were 5-1 The point I made was that the other contenders had problems. M.K lost their manager and some players. Peterborough would take a season to ajust. Leeds were shite. I have a £10 double Leicester Reading and a £10 double Leicester Birmingham The only team I can see challenging us this season is Carlise.
