Due to the Upperton Road Viaduct Redevelopment, Upperton Road remains closed for a second time to connect the permanent road into the existing.

This road is closed until 6am on Tuesday (August 26).

Diversions are well signposted for both pedestrian and road traffic.

Further information about the project and progress reports are available at www.leicester.gov.uk/uppertonroad

Drivers are being warned of rush-hour delays from today after a key road was closed.Upperton Road, a main route across the River Soar in Leicester, was closed on Friday evening. It is expected to reopen at 6am on Tuesday, August 26.

The closure is to allow the latest stage of a scheme to replace Upperton Road viaduct.Traffic from the M1/M69 junction is being directed along Soar Valley Way and Aylestone Road.City-bound traffic from Narborough Road is being directed to St Nicholas Circle and Welford Road.

Access into Great Central Way is closed this week, with diversions along Western Road, Bruce Street and Wilberforce Road and across the river near Bede Park.Extra signs are redirecting visitors to Castle Park Heritage and Arts Festival, which started today and runs until next Monday.

Project manager Aman Mehra said: "This is another exciting major milestone in the project."The timing has been chosen to minimise the impact of the road closure by taking advantage of the school and public holidays.

The entire city center is a nightmare these days.

Horsefair St. is pissing me off with all their constant road works.

What I would do is come to the ground from the Aylestone Road side. Park up off the Aylestone Road for free, on the estate just before the British Gas offices or on the other side of the road there.

Or you could try parking up on the Welford Road or pay £3.50 and park on the Saffron Lane sports ground - like me!

So why bother to comment?

freedom of speech.

Nothing to do with free speech, the point was if you aren't 'bothered' why 'bother' to comment unless you're just attention seeking :dunno: or trying to increase your post count.
