Phlashman Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 So have you seen the new walkers ad? The one where people are suggesting new flavours to our Gary. At the end he's at a football match and a player scores a goal and lifts his shirt to reveal his flavour suggestion. Now, why didn't they a) do it at the Walkers? and b) atleast have the player in a blue shirt (rather than a red one that looks alot like forest).

Probably because they didn't assume people would take too much notice
Finchy Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 I thought this too! The WALKERS stadium seemed like the only way to do it! Maybe they weren't allowed or something, they must have tried.
Head Honcho Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 I thought this too! The WALKERS stadium seemed like the only way to do it! Maybe they weren't allowed or something, they must have tried. So! Because Walkers have a 10 year deal for the stadium to be named "The Walkers" stadium. They're compelled to advertise their wares there? I don't get it! Why are they?
hairy Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Walkers dont make the adverts. They would hire in an agency. That agency could be located anywhere. Maybe Milan wanted too much for the use of the ground. Maybe Walkers fell out with city when they lost the shirts to LG.

Samilktray Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 On a side note. They should do gravy flavoured crisps.

Guest Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Was it even a real stadium? No, it was a plasticine model.
Corky Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Was it even a real stadium? No, it was a collection of seats nicked from parks and stacked on top of each other.

My old man used to run the Ad agency that did the Walkers ads Was based in Millstone lane Leic, but when Pepsi Cola bought Walkers (Early 90s) they moved everything to Reading and used a London based agency bacause they didnt want to go "up norf" The reason it was shot probably down south is because all the production companys are there, and it would of cost money to take everyone 100 miles up the M1 Regards
