lildave3 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 No it didn't. Well it was something incredibly similiar then. SUAS heard it too.
JoeyB Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 FOr the goal it was a blatent handball then the ref raised his flag, and then lowered it, which confused everyone. as for L1 - i am ashamed
Leicester Lass Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Well it was something incredibly similiar then. SUAS heard it too. That might have been just after the guy was taken out in the wheelchair, we had a player down in the box and their fans started singing 'Let him die.'
lildave3 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 FOr the goal it was a blatent handball then the ref raised his flag, and then lowered it, which confused everyone.as for L1 - i am ashamed He flagged for a foul, The ref waved play on, they went and scored. No problem. If it was handball, why would he flag the other way?

Because straight after whoever went to tackle him fouled him aswell in the same move, So he handballed it, then got fouled, then corssed and they scored. but we still won so hey ho
Bert Posted 23 August 2008 Author Posted 23 August 2008 There were chants of chuck him out chuck him out, to one of their fans after the incident.
Staf Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I agree it was disgusting that some of our fans were singing this to be fair though from where i was it looked like there also was some fans clapping in L1 so fair play to some people althought the others were our of order.

Yep, there are some decent members of the public in there aswell.
lildave3 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 That might have been just after the guy was taken out in the wheelchair, we had a player down in the box and their fans started singing 'Let him die.' Oh ok fair enough Because straight after whoever went to tackle him fouled him aswell in the same move,So he handballed it, then got fouled, then corssed and they scored. but we still won so hey ho What? Who handballed it?
clazkel Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I agree it was disgusting that some of our fans were singing this to be fair though from where i was it looked like there also was some fans clapping in L1 so fair play to some people althought the others were our of order. Yeah i sit in row L in L1 and i could hear fans singing 'cheerio, cheerio, cheerio' and many people were looking across, but i assumed someone was being thrown out then i saw the man being carried down the stairs (i think he was in a wheel chair) and some fans were clapping him but some started sing 'you fat b......' and he stuck his fingers up. I think some people who clapped him then sang 'u fat b.......' to him, so i think they were joking but it wasn't very nice.
AndyBrew Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I thought the chants of "You fat bastard..." and then the chap giving the finger was bloody funny :crylaugh: don't worry his injuries didn't look life threatening
dilko2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 About that bloke looked like a leg injury i am on front row of L1 and it lloked nasty bit of bandage hope he is ok
isaidno Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 It was probably the same set of morons that shouted abuse at the servicemen at the Hinckley game
The Stig Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Yet another example ladies and gentlemen that people are indeed idiots.
TRFC Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Not sure what happened exactly but he must have fallen over. There was blood all over the steps from his ankle and they had to bring the cleaners in to mop it up. Wasn't very impressed by the reaction of some of the Leicester fans but I understand these are just a minority and not a true representation. There's idiotic supporters in every club, and wouldn't be surprised if some of the scummy chav element in our support had reacted in the same way. It was a good day and entertaining match, bit disappointed about the result though!
Spiritwalker Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Sorry to buck the trend but this is football where traditionally a bit of banter takes place between opposing fans. Some of you lads sound like you've been to a 'good will to all men' convension. Still I'm sure while you were busy writing your get well soon cards, his mates were helping themselves to your hub caps.
Guest Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I have had to be lead to the medical room at a footy game more than once, home and away, and I didn't think he was that harshly treated. Maybe I am more thick skinned.

I know. I thought I was the only one who thought that, talk about over reaction. What a load of PC, tree huging wimps football fans are these days. Now back in my day...........................
davieG Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I wasn't aware of this sitting in the cheap seats but the problem seems to me that no one really had any idea why he was being wheeled out. If those doing the singing later found out he'd collapsed and died then you'd hope they'd be feeling pretty stupid and bad. It's the unknown nature of it that makes it at best a risky thing to do and at worst totally unacceptable.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I'm sure people off here who went to Stoke can remember the stick one of our fans took off them, when he was atteneded to by the medical staff and he turned round and wacked his middle finger up at them whilst walking back to his seat. Class!

The singing only really started when he was being carried out, perfectly conscious and able to give the V's, to be fair.
Daggers Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I vote that if it happens again we all join in with a chorus of "for he's a jolly good fellow" and then we all sit down together with hot chocolate and marshmallows.
