davieG Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I vote that if it happens again we all join in with a chorus of "for he's a jolly good fellow" and then we all sit down together with hot chocolate and marshmallows. After a pre match pint consuming that and I'd need to be carried out. The singing only really started when he was being carried out, perfectly conscious and able to give the V's, to be fair. Fair enough then.
foss1884 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Normal banter, not mindless idiotic behaviour. The job of the fans is not to extend the red carpet treatment, which i think a lot of our fans would like to offer away supporters in a very politically correct, cordial manner whilst minding our language. To argue that the reaction of some Leicester fans by chanting "cheerio" is a disgrace is laughable as we experience far worse away from home. I feel the reaction of the Tranmere fans was far more offensive by gesturing and threatening to run across to the Leicester fans.
Spiritwalker Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I vote that if it happens again we all join in with a chorus of "for he's a jolly good fellow" and then we all sit down together with hot chocolate and marshmallows. This is good and really getting in to the spirit of the Football League's lets all be nice to each other thing. However this guy could have been a transexual in which case he might take offence to being called a fellow and lets check the hot chocolate is not too hot as we wouldn't want our friends from liverpool burning themselves.
Daggers Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I feel the reaction of the Tranmere fans was far more offensive by gesturing and threatening to run across to the Leicester fans. Yes - I was deeply afronted. I sincerely hope that at Tranmere they cordially invite us to "Come on in (for a hug)"
Daggers Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I feel ashamed Please tell me this has something to do with masturbation.
The Reverend Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I vote that if it happens again we all join in with a chorus of "for he's a jolly good fellow" and then we all sit down together with hot chocolate and marshmallows. :appl: Not a big deal in my book. Thats football, welcome to a football game. It's just banter. I dunno what all the fuss is about.
iancognito Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 The guy had a bandaged leg, he wasn't dying, hadn't suffered a heart attack and wasn't in any danger. The fact he had a 'Capital D' just made the banter a bit healthier. I've shook my head at the behaviour of our lot on many occasions but this wasn't one of them.
samuel Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 I think the OP started this thread for a bit of kudos, his good deed for the day. I don't think football is for you if you are offended at something that happens at everyground in the country. Maybe going to help frogs cross cattle grids is more your scene...
merseyparadise Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 We're over it but good luck in Birkenhead, when we meet again We're from a lovely little town, ha. Good atmosphere, entertaining game, shit result.
Simi Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 We're over it but good luck in Birkenhead, when we meet again Is that a threat?
Unit Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 Something about a handball from their player. Less like handball, more like a mini game of basketball.
Kilworthfox Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 WOW! contradiction central here? Kop hears a song no one in L1 can hear? 1st time for something eh? Bert what you chatting about? OK I sang the song, I did not start it, but did my best sheep impression and joined in with my lack of brainage Would like to add that to a man everyone clapped the bloke with the bad Elvis off in L1. The song was sung by many on here & clapped the poor chap off from L1 so lets not get carried away with branding L1 with an unfair tag here. I am sure we have all heard poor taste chants at matches far worse that the one yesterday. In fact I would go as far to say that the chant was in fact not aimed at the poorly guy at all but at the Meat heads & chavs in the away end to get a reaction, which duly worked a treat as they sang back "scum" to those who not 10 seconds later were clapping the guy away. To any Tranmere fans appalled sorry from L1 However grow a thicker skin for away matches when your fans bait the home fans ok There really was nothing worth a topic IMO that happened in L1 yesterday IE not a Stoke at home from last year. Also Bert please do not be so quick to be appalled with people in L1 when it is most probably the same people sticking up for you when opposition fans pick you out Bristol City (H) last year for instance.

Yeh but i wasn't injured against Bristol City was i? Just had big ears. I'm entitled to my opinion, just like you are yours.

Bert Posted 24 August 2008 Author Posted 24 August 2008 It is what makes Football a great game to talk about matey Very true. Twat.
Glenfield Fox Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 I have had to be lead to the medical room at a footy game more than once, home and away, and I didn't think he was that harshly treated. Maybe I am more thick skinned. What did the crowd shout at you then ?
Guest Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 What did the crowd shout at you then ? I don't see that it matters, I was more concerned about having urgent medical treatment to care at the time.
Kilworthfox Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 I don't see that it matters, I was more concerned about bustin heads to care at the time about my injury. Nutter!
Glenfield Fox Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 I don't see that it matters, I was more concerned about having urgent medical treatment to care at the time. I was just hoping that due respect was shown to an injured lady seeking assistance.
Guest Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 I was just hoping that due respect was shown to an injured lady seeking assistance. Any female who gets the other side of the barriers is obliged to "get her tits out", apparently.
Ozwin Posted 24 August 2008 Posted 24 August 2008 So what happened to the guy being taken out? Was it just a piss head who fell over a load of seats or something?
