Darkzzz_ Posted 31 January 2009 Author Posted 31 January 2009 What a game Napoli and Udinese is. Some good football being played, Quagliarella is a good player. What a strike.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 January 2009 Posted 31 January 2009 Dortmund only managed a 1-1 draw with Leverkusen. Frei for Dortmund, Helmes for Leverkusen. And Boubacar Sanogo and Demba both scored to give Hoffenheim a 2-0 win over Energie Cottbus.
lildave3 Posted 31 January 2009 Posted 31 January 2009 Fenerbahce 1 - 0 Bursaspor In the first leg of the Fortis Turkish Cup quarter-finals Fenerbahce faced Bursaspor at the Fenerbahce Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium. A fantastic goal from the Brazilian star Deivid de Souza made sure that last year's UEFA Champion League quarter-finalists Fenerbahce continue their Turkish Cup campaign with another victory.

Darkzzz_ Posted 1 February 2009 Author Posted 1 February 2009 Enjoyed my fix of European action today. The Inter v Torino game was very good, really enjoyed it, end to end action. Torino could have won it to be fair but had former Ipswich stopper Matteo Sereni on top form. Then the big one. Barcelona, had a scare early on but the main man was on fire yet again, with his 24th and 25th goals of the season in all competitions to secure a 2-1 and maintain their there dominant lead in La Liga. Might as well start engraving his name on the player of the year trophy for this year.
Joe. Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 Atletico lost. Again. This time to Valladolid, 2-1. <_<
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 A tad random, but did anyone catch Gourcuff's goal for Bordeaux the other week? Forget who it was against, but it was a brilliant finish. If he's still on loan from A.C Milan, I think it'd be better for him to leave the San Siro permanently. Criminally under used there, now he's got some confidence he's starting to look the business, like he did at Rennes.

He wasn't under used at all to be honest, when he did play he was poor, although he did score a few goals for them. Ancelotti wanted to send him back home to get some experience, as far as I know he will be back at Milan next season. He has been fantastic and is showing his talent, one of the best players in the French league this season.

I'm sure I read something somewhere that there's a clause in his loan deal that allows Bordeaux to buy him for a certain fee (fairly high if I remeber), although I'm sure they could recoup it comfortably in the years to come.

Sparky Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 His volley was a decent finish (2nd goal) Racing are rolling around like tossers , glad they got beat . Even if it is still 0-0 on my screen

He was imo. He's showing what he can do and, from what I saw of him at Milan, he was never given enough game time, shunted in favour of the old heads at Milan. I hope he does leave. Dislike Milan. Although Barca can do that sometimes. Especially Alves. Ineista is a class player. He was imo. He did play 40-50 games at Milan, It was always going to be tough for him, Pato was just coming through, Seedorf, Pirlo, Ambrosini and Kaka Fair do's. He did play 40-50 games at Milan, It was always going to be tough for him, Pato was just coming through, Seedorf, Pirlo, Ambrosini and Kaka were all on top form. He is and has always been highly rated there, but just needed games, I applaud Milan for letting him go out on loan for this vital experience. Milan do need start looking towards their youth that is true, but they aren't all fossils. Be good to see him back in Serie A under his current form.

He is a far better player than Ambrosini imo, but any player will struggle to shine with Seedorf to compete with. Brilliant professional.

Darkzzz_ Posted 2 February 2009 Author Posted 2 February 2009 Beckham was superb last night claiming two assists in a 3-0 victory for Milan at Lazio. Good game in which Milan really dominated. Pato is looking good this season, outshining Kaka at the moment.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Beckham was superb last night claiming two assists in a 3-0 victory for Milan at Lazio. It's so obvious that Beckham regrets going to LA now. He might have alot of cash but it's always struck me that he'd rather be playing for a good side, and getting in the England team, than going out with a whimper. It's clear he still has enough talent to cut it at a top level European side as well.

He is looking very fit and has really contributed in the few games he has played. We had Italian TV on earlier and Maldini said he is so proud and honoured to be playing with Beckham and that he believes he will sign for Milan on a permanent basis. Even the fans, who were very critical of the move have said how surprised and happy they are with him.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Anyone on here interested in the Swedish League, Allsvenkan? Here's the home page if you are http://www.svenskfotboll.se/ I know most of the top Swedish players go abroad but I have been watching Helsingborgs IF since about 2004 (a couple of matches per season) and it's a half decent standard. Plus the season is March to November so you can catch games in the beautiful Swedish summer.

He could well help them reach the Champions League this year. Considering how few English players, even at their peak, succeed in Serie A, that would take some doing. Maybe he could play in the 2010 World Cup after all.
lildave3 Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Gotta say Beckham looks to be proving me wrong so far.
