shen Posted 2 May 2009 Posted 2 May 2009 Also i need some reccomendations, Lewandowski wouldnt come as he's only just signed for Lech.So i need players like him that are cheap as fook and will be amazing all season and through next season as well. Players like Stancu and Aaritalo from FM08. Hit me up... Just look back a few players or the other FM recommendation thread
MarkDeVries Posted 2 May 2009 Posted 2 May 2009 Aint played fm for a while but, when I was Leicester I got Lewandowski for a mere 600k. Shat on league 1 with 102 points. Next season got to the championship final vs Ipswich and lost which I thought was quite good considering i got to 4th. Mandaric accepted a bid for Lewandowski for 3m when he was worth 5m. I could do nothing. Anyway, got promoted next season to the Prem. Got Ched Evans, Daniel Sturridge both on a free. With the patch, I nearly got BOJAN on a free but he went to AEK Athens. So, the way to go up is big wages and free's
lcfc_jme Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 My Wolves team are 1000/1 to win the title Well, after managing to finish 3rd last season, my odds have shortened dramatically from 1,000/1 to just 40/1. Expecting a more comfortable season now, have more firepower up top with Saivet arriving and Wilshere coming in. Youngsters have also fit into the squad and managed to speak English, and I now have Asenjo in goal. CL group stage and finishing in the top 3 again would be brilliant for me.
Granno Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 I haven't played this for ages. The fun seems to have fizzled out very quickly this year.
General Smuts Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Line up is 4-5-1 attacking:Stockdale Carr Mattock Hobbs Tunchev Oakley Dyer Merida King Cleverley Howard Bench: Ambrusics Gradel Fryatt Morrison Gilbert Installed the patch and started to get into this now. Lineup is now: I. Walker Gilbert/Martis Mattock Tunchev Wayne Brown/Hobbs Mizuno Gradel Gerard King Chris Cleaver Jon Daly Subs: Henderson Gilbert/Martis Wayne Brown/Hobbs Cleverley Offiong Sold: N'Gotty (2k) Berner (100k) Howard (1.7m) Worley (35k) Fryatt (400k) Dickov (3k) Logan (16k) Powell (20k) Psssh (70k) Adams, Hayles, Hayes, Verma, Cisak, Sapplezilla (All loan) Ins: Gerard and Ian Walker (Free) Mizuno (110k) Daly (26k) Offiong (130k) Martis (50k) Cleaver (200k) Any ideas how to stop TV Mode popping up at the start of games? Don't like that shit. Got rid of 3d mode but couldn't rid tv mode. EDIT: Just signed Erik Huseklepp from Brann for 300k. Tunchev loves it.
Guppy Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Any ideas how to stop TV Mode popping up at the start of games? Don't like that shit. Got rid of 3d mode but couldn't rid tv mode. Change from TV view to Classic View in View Match on the left side of the screen pre-match, i think. Someone could explain better than I have, but you should be able to figure it out..

I can see how to do it in game i wanted to do it standard before every game.
Guppy Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 I can see how to do it in game i wanted to do it standard before every game. That does it if you do that pre-match on the match analysis screen (or one of them), works for me anyway.
General Smuts Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 That does it if you do that pre-match on the match analysis screen (or one of them), works for me anyway. I'll have a try ta. Does anyone else have to play this windowed to stop the mouse cursor flickering?
CosbehFox Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Deary me, started a Leicester 'un and swiftly lost 4-0 to P'boro on opening day.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 My Hereford season is a complete disaster, just dropped rock bottom after losing 2-0 at Crewe. Having won 2 of the first 3 games, I've now gone 2 wins in 33 games. Relegation is almost a certainty, just praying that I'll get the chance to turn it around in League 2, but the managers around me are dropping like flies so I don't hold out much hope. Oh and Bruno N'Gotty has been a massive disappointment. <_< I'll have a try ta.Does anyone else have to play this windowed to stop the mouse cursor flickering? Not for me, and if you change to classic vew before the match then it will stop tv mode coming up all the time.
DB11 Posted 4 May 2009 Author Posted 4 May 2009 No doubt I'll get back into this once someone releases a data update with the teams in the proper division and any new signings. Can't see it happening for a while yet though
Fox92 Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Daniel Parejo from Real Madrid for £1,000. Easily the best £1k ever spent, seeing as he's now worth £3.6million. I can never get him, but £1,000. What a signing!
Fox92 Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 So, finished my season [2012/13]. Took Oldham Athletic from 14th in Blue Square Premier to 4th and won the play-offs Team as of 7th July 2013, don't think I'll sign anybody else. GK Josh Wagenaar - Last season played 9 conceded 7 with 5 clean sheets. Good in that league, not sure about League 2. DR Carlos Garcia - Had him at Blackpool. Star! NEW SIGNING DC Ronnie Henry - Hard centre back from Stevenage. DC Ashley Eastham - Had him at Blackpool with me. Good player, only 21. DL Lee Ridley - Scored 6 goals from LB last year, good player. 31 though. MR - Ricard Kitchen - Good winger. Good last year. MC - Craig Gladwin - My mate from school who I take everywhere. MC - Aaron Chalmers - 22 and can play anywhere TBH. Great player. ML - Jorrin John - From LCFC, had him on loan last season, good in that league. ST - Shaun Miller - Played against us on Sat for Crewe. Scored 33 goals in 48 apps last season with 3 assists. Legend! ST - Ryan Whitehurst - Young 'un from Forest, good player last year in Blue Square Premier. Another legend!
General Smuts Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I can never get him, but £1,000. What a signing! Already gone to some spanish team for 700k on mine.
MarkDeVries Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Im going to sound like a twat but how the hell do I get on the FM Editor?
MarkDeVries Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Im going to sound like a twat but how the hell do I get on the FM Editor? Don't ask, found it. Was looking in completely the wrong place
DB11 Posted 5 May 2009 Author Posted 5 May 2009 Im going to sound like a twat but how the hell do I get on the FM Editor? Depends whether you installed with Steam or not as to where it is
Dan Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 General smuts, play Gradel his stats aint brilliant but on mine ends up worth just under £4mil.
General Smuts Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 General smuts, play Gradel his stats aint brilliant but on mine ends up worth just under £4mil. I have Erik Huseklepp who sometimes gets in ahead of him. Gradel gets his share of games though.
dan77 Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Im assuming Luton would be a challenge. First update, started playing at the weekend, took charge of Luton -30 points. Released few players straight away, there are players on wages of £3000 or over, most notably McVeigh who was released as he couldnt even get into my 1st team, then there is Dean Morgan on £4000 he is on loan but signs a new contract straight away for half. Had a few good players to use....Nicholls is amazing in League 2, as is Sam Parkin and Tom Craddock up front. Was unsure who to sign on frees, had no money for transfers, and after releasing had aroun £6000 on the wage budget, looked through the frees not much going on my assistant suggested Zoumana Bakayoko, turned out to be purchase of the season, great left winger and so fast. Also went throught the transfer rumours and found 2 dutch players who were on for free....awesome stats!! (Unsure how to post pictures on here??) Teams in League 1 were all hovering managed to get both in, will get you there names tonight, 1st was a CB and 2nd was MC, played awesome all season!! Anyway after pre season, found a 4-4-2 formation that worked, kept it simple as lower league teams can't handle the technical formations and settings, players aren't good enough I suppose? Started off well, won 6 drew 2 lost 2, main challenge was getting to ) points asap!! Not a very eventful season target was to survive relegation managed that, target 2nd round FA Cup lost to Southend 1st Round as expected, target League Cup 2nd Round lost to Cardiff 1st, but they never mind if it is to a higher league team....main point was surviving in League 1!! Got to Feb and was in a fight with Macclesfield and Bournemouth, went on an amazing run April time and managed to get 6 points clear of the bottom 2....secured it with 2 games to go, nice and safe.....10 points clear in the end..... Need to start building for next season, as I am an Unknown manager now classed as talented, struggling to get decent frees as nobody wants to play for a nobody haha Any suggestions?? Personally thought I did ok on the 1st season!!

Personally thought I did ok on the 1st season!! Grats. Think i'll start a Luton season at the weekend. Should be good. Only thing i can think of doing is to get free loans and a parent club. Maybe sell someone like Dean Brill?
General Smuts Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Right i think i've worked a plan of action for my Luton game at the weekend. Minimum squad size so hoping to cut it down to about 17/18. With youth players covering for injuries. I'll also have to release a few of the youth players to lower the wage bill. Without looking at the squad this is the positions i'll need. Versatillity is the key. Players i know will stay are below: GK - Dean Brill GK - Youth keeper DR/L - Jake Howells/new signing DR - Ed Asafu-Adjaye/new signing DL - Sol Davis DC - Claude Gnakpa DC - Ian Roper/George Pilkington - whichever doesn't sell/least wages DC - new signing MR/L - new signing MR - Rossi Jarvis ML - Lewis Emanuel DM - Kevin Nicholls AMC - Paul McVeigh MC - Keith Keane MC - Asa Hall ST - Sam Parkin ST - Drew Talbot ST - Tom Craddock This will probably all change once i look at the team but its a start. I'll use the training schedules i downloaded to beef up the squad. And my standard 4-5-1 tactic with a DM and 2 (A)MC's packing the middle of the park. I'll rely on Parkin to bag a shit load.

Sounds like a plan, Drew Talbot is on loan to Chesterfield until end of the season, Parkin does bag well, I wouldn't get rid of Pilkington he is immense!! The rest as you said you should be ok with, make sure you get Morgans contract lower, I got lucky and got Chelsea as my Parent Club as well, the tactics are the key, you get no staff hardly and just that basic squad!! Like you said just got to get some good signings in!! I think Luton is the best challenge this year....good team hard at 1st but you could make them awesome if you stick with it!! Darren Kenton is a good free, I missed out on him, didn't offer very good wages... You do need a winger, Henderson had a good season for me, he is good upfront aswell bit of a Dickov type player runs and runs.... See who can get the highest then??
