bluebeau Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Looks like big Nige is going to have a 'walk over' in winning manager of the month, lets just hope it's not the kiss of death. Somehow don't think it will be, 'cos I reckon he has got the lads believing in themselves, & there is real competition for places this season. We've got a fantastic squad, he made 6 changes at Hartlepool & we still won comfortably. Well done the lads & big Nige & his team, keep it up. The good times are back. Up the City!!
Asha Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Looks like big Nige is going to have a 'walk over' in winning manager of the month Not neccesarily. John Sheridan's done a very decent job this month. We were one of the favourites anyway, our good start is no real suprise to anyone.

John Sheridan's done a very decent job this month. We were one of the favourites anyway, our good start is no real suprise to anyone. Means a lot more pressure on Nige though, and he has been very professional and got the job done, so far; and long may it continue.
Thracian Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Not neccesarily. John Sheridan's done a very decent job this month. We were one of the favourites anyway, our good start is no real suprise to anyone. We've been one of the favourites in other pre-season's. But I don't know that many of us expected such a turnaround and so many goals in such a short space of time, nor so many once-faltering footballers suddenly finding some form and consistency all of a sudden.
Legend_in_blue Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I was expecting us to make a good start. Tbh, I can't believe how good the start has been. We appear to be extremely professional, putting on professional displays with a professional attitude towards games. For me, NP has been instrumental in all of these changes and he deserves some sort of recognition for it. He has my vote.

A couple of Hartlepool fans mentioned that we seemed much more "up for it" against them than other "big" clubs in the past. It all reflects well on the manager.

Candidcamera Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 What I like is that he is planning for the future - just what we need. Hope he realises that success is pointless unless we are developed as a team.
