Jordan Posted 12 September 2011 Posted 12 September 2011 Didn't actually expect the Eagles to do as well as they did, always helps with a few opposition injuries to key players though, I guess. Jason Babin looked really sharp, can't complain with a couple of sacks, really. McCoy, Jackson and (although his pass completion was less than half) Vick all showed signs that the optimism might not be misplaced, after all. They really have almost too much talent to lose. Surely it will be an Eagles vs Packers playoff rematch in the NFC title game? What a miserable second half for my Giants. I feared this would be a difficult season for them, and yesterday did nothing to alleviate my concerns.

Not so sure man, like someone's said, a lot depends on how well Vick is protected, O-line isn't the greatest in the world. MV seems a different breed though, smart and quick enough to make space for himself. What did you make of Philly bagging Steve Smith last month? Sicknote, I know, but real, real talent.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 September 2011 Posted 12 September 2011 Patriots by plenty today and Broncos is my predictions

Jordan Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 What did you make of Philly bagging Steve Smith last month? Sicknote, I know, but real, real talent. One of the best 3rd down WRs in football when he's healthy.
Guest MattP Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Pats looked right back to the best........already starting to think of a Packers V Patriots Superbowl
Jordan Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Pats looked right back to the best........already starting to think of a Packers V Patriots Superbowl I think the Ravens might have something to say about who looked the best in Week 1.
Guest MattP Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 I think the Ravens might have something to say about who looked the best in Week 1. Good shout. Flacco seems to be developing into a top notch QB as well.
ramboacdc Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 pats will win superbowl this year. brady gave himself so much time on the ball last night he made it look effortless.
ramboacdc Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Cowboys win in OT 49ers deserved the win until they forgot how to do everything in the final 1/4
Jordan Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 The Niners weren't the only team that had a disastrous meltdown yesterday; it seemed like nearly every game involved a frantic comeback win... Well, besides the Jets and the Lions, of course. I'm delighted with Michael Vick's performance yesterday: a few lost fumbles and a concussion. The Eagles' offense runs so much differently without Vick but the youngster that replaced him played pretty well--perhaps because the Eagles tweaked their offense to be a little more orthodox. It's ironic that Andy Reid wanted to keep Vick in the pocket to protect him better last night, but he wound up getting injured. Giants vs. Rams on Monday Night Football... Big Blue, despite their problems, has to win this one at home... Right?... Please?...
James18 Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 Anyone been watching the play-offs? Sadly the Falcons are out, but wow what a game between Denver and Pittsburgh tonight. Tim Tebow 80yd TD to win in overtime
ACF Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 TEBOOOOOW! I can't not like him despite being a Giants fan!
jonlcfc1990 Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 I can't help the horrible feeling that if that Denver offence can step up as well as their defence did against PIT the game of the playoffs could be NE DEN Plus you never know what Tebow is going to do
Guest MattP Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 Tebowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Jordan Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 TEBOW TIIIIIIIMMMMME! I've said that Tim Tebow was the worst passing QB in the NFL and thought it was ridiculous that he could lead a team to the playoffs in today's pass-heavy league (without begrudging his success). But he looked awesome at times yesterday. The Steelers were putting 8 men in the box all game and Tebow recognized when he had man coverage on his WRs with no safety help and abused those CBs. And he threw good passes, too! Mr. Tebow, this atheist salutes you. Giants kicked the Falcons' asses yesterday, too. It was a comprehensive win (well, besides maybe on special teams, and perhaps they also benefited from some questionable decisions by Mike Smith on 3rd/4th and short, but still). The Giants' offense started poorly but was doing everything well in the 2nd half, and any defense that can keep Matt Ryan and his weapons off the scoreboard for a whole game deserves loads of praise.
Guest MattP Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 I know this is an NFL thread but anyone who is a fan of American football watch or record the BCS championship game tonight. LSU V Alabama live on ESPN, will be an absolute classic.
James18 Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 Not watched any college football, don't quite get the rankings and all the bowls, but I'm going to watch/record it. Want to start watching college football next year. Dad's a Patriots fan, would be ace if Timmy stepped up and beat them. I mean if he can do what he did to the Steelers D, he should easily be able to do it against the worst in the league (Patriots). Then again this is Tebow were talking about.

You will be amazed at the quality and atmosphere of it. He's just gotta try and keep it close, if he does that you never know!
