lildave3 Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 The Bears have hung on in there when the Packers should be out of sight. Last three minutes, 21-14 to the Packers and the Bears have the ball. Good game. Good 4th quarter, rest of it wasn't great. Was hoping for a Chicago win purely because I have a Green Bay fan at work and he's gonna be pretty damn smug tomorrow now! What was that term he just used to describe the dead leg Roethlisberger got not long ago? The Jets can shove their green bagels where the sun doesn't shine. A charlie horse! They always call it that for some reason. God bless America.
StanSP Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 I was hoping Chicago would win earlier, cos it's the only place I've been to out of the 4 teams that were left - what a reason. Ha, and Pittsburgh just beat NY 24-19. Pittsburgh are AFC Champions and go to the Superbowl in 2 weeks time.
MC Prussian Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 GO STEELERS!!! Big Ben's on fire and I'm lovin' it. Two "underdogs" in the final and now I fancy Pittsburgh to win it.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 January 2011 Author Posted 24 January 2011 I'd like Pittsburgh to win it now, which inevitably means Green Bay will batter them.
Jackirius Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 I want Steelers to win but i'm thinking GB will... Will be a good game nonetheless.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 May 2011 Author Posted 23 May 2011 Eagles leading the race to sign Plaxico Burress on apparently. Ego concerns aside, it'd leave the Eagles with some phenomenal offensive options, especially given the development of Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson over the past year or so. The whole thing has 'T.O / Disaster' written all over it, I'd still love to see it happen though. Wasn't keen on the Michael Vick signing at the time, know many Eagles fans still aren't, but he does seem to have levelled his head out and my opinion of him has changed no end. Would love to go to Philadelphia and watch them one day, I've gone from a level of passing interest six or so years back to genuine support now. *For those that don't know, Burress was arrested on weapons charges after shooting himself in the leg with a pistol he'd hidden in the waist of his trousers on a nightclub visit. As you do.
Steven Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Will there be an NFL season this year as we are still in a lockout situation?
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 any NFL fans on here? Do we usually do a thread over the season?
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 American football is rugby for wusses. Rugby is American football for fat fcukers with low skill level in any other sports.
stix Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 i havent given it enough time to know whether i like it or not to be honest. but thats simply because i rarely have around 5 hours spare to sit and watch a game!! I can imagine it would be decent to actually go and watch a game though, i could just get leathered and "Whoooooooooooooooooh!!!" every now & then!!

I actually prefer the longer sports the older I get, spent a year watching NFL with a mate as soon as you learn the tactics etc it one of the best sports in the world. Unlike most sports you rarely get a bad game.
Spencer Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I forced myself to watch NFL until I learnt the rules, now it's amazing!

It seems it's only the ones they send over to wembley that are crap! that and I expect sky shield a lot of the poor contests from our view Nick Halling and Kevin Cadle are superb hosts, its certainly worth checking in at some point this season if youbnew but intrigued.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 August 2011 Author Posted 20 August 2011 Can't wait for all this to start now. Genuinely think the Eagles have their strongest roster since 2004/5. Getting Nnamdi Asomugah in is ridiculous business, best cornerback in the NFL bar none. Then there's Trent Cole, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, Asante Samuel, and obviously Michael Vick. If they can get Steve Smith fit and firing, they've got another cracking wide receiver on their hands, looked the business for the Giants. Real weapon. Trying not to get too hopeful, though.
ajthefox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Nick Halling's gone now, not that it bothers me, I'm a Gamepass customer. Meh, he was a steelers fan anyway..
James18 Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 Love it! Only started watching it properly last year so I'm still learning tactis etc,. As someone already said, it's one of the best sports in the world when you actual understand it. Nothing can beat Football though What's everyone's supported teams? Took a liking to Atlanta Falcons myself.

Could be an exciting season in the best division in football.

Ryan should carry on his development into a quality quarterback.
Podge Posted 8 September 2011 Posted 8 September 2011 Got my Wembley tickets booked this morning, Anybody else got theirs sorted?
