Fox You Forest Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Crazy fourth quarter in the Giants game, nobody wants the ball.
lildave3 Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 I've decided i'm a Chargers fan. They start tonight and I fully expect a win, despite knowing nothing of their work.

Jonezy Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 Patriots' offence looked amazing and Brady has a ton of weapons this season - very encouraging. The young defense did well until Belichick decided to go 'bend don't break' and Ochochino started to show his class. I'm a very optimistic Patsfan now, but the real test comes next week in New York against the Jets.

Fox You Forest Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 Can't believe it's on Channel 4 now, he seems like a right miserable ****er who presents it, Mike Carlson's still on thankfully.

I imagine the pats will do a lot better if they've lost a game come week 6 or 7 - they need to forget about the perfect season, for this one at least. Thought the Giants looked interesting last night, not all there at the moment, but give it 16 weeks they may all get into the grove and thats whats needed to win this thing. Didn't see any of the Falcons highlights, but was gutted they didn't manage to win in Pittsburgh - we don't need to give New Orleans any game starts on us.

Nah, there will be no attempt on the perfect season for the Pats. They will have a hard time 'just' winning the division. Big win for Houston this week as well, might open up AFC South a bit this season.
C-man Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 Haha why?? Even before you told me your options, my guess was the Chargers. I don't know why... Maybe 'cos they're West Coast? I know a few other people just getting into the NFL who have chosen to support the Chargers because they can't be called glory supporters (never won a Superbowl) but they've got a reasonable chance each season because of their poor division. One of the reasons I started supporting the Vikings (around 8/9 years ago now) was because they'd lost in 4 Superbowls - and were therefore similar to City. Another reason was that they weren't shit - it was the Daunte Culpepper/Randy Moss era.

It's nice that the Giants were able to win big despite playing really sloppy game, but they're going to have to do a lot better if they want to make the playoffs as they've got themselves a difficult schedule. They can rotate eight good down lineman It appears they've got their secondary sorted out but the linebacker unit is still a question mark. On offense, however, it seems like their running game is not quite all there, although maybe losing the starting job has lit a fire under Brandon Jacobs' ass. We've got a really good group of young WRs, though, and Eli is a really fvcking good quarterback no matter how much people like to criticize him. The Packers look scary, but the biggest thing to come out of their win at Philadelphia is that the Eagles look like they're Michael Vick's team now. He did very well taking over for Kolb but I have a feeling that NFL defenses will finally figure out a way to neutralize the Wildcat formation this year (I'm also looking at you, Miami). Semi-shocks from Seattle, Washington and Jacksonville yesterday. Huge win for the Texans--I think they're legit this year. And of course, you just knew the Patriots would be up for this season... at least that win will shut Ochocinco and T.O. up for a few days (I hope). Jets-Ravens and Chargers-Chiefs doubleheader tonight, awesome.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 September 2010 Author Posted 13 September 2010 Eagles lost 20-27. Benders.
Jordan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 The Jets talked a lot of shit this offseason and have made it clear that they intend to challenge for a Super Bowl title, but based on tonight's performance--particularly their passing game--their offense is clearly not on a championship level. Ravens 10, Jets 9.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Eagles lost 20-27. Benders. Yes, but loving the throw back Green jersey!
samjohnson Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Sticking with the New York Giants for the 5th year running Probably due to a family connection with some living only a block or 2 away from the ground... They won 31-18 against Carolina... Nice start to the season to put behind the awful 8-8 record last season <_<
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 September 2010 Author Posted 20 September 2010 Eagles won 35-32 at Detroit in what seemed a decent game from what I've watched. Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson all doing the business. Lovely stuff.
Jordan Posted 20 September 2010 Posted 20 September 2010 Waited all day for the Sunday night Giants-Colts game and turned the game off at halftime after seeing Peyton, Addai, Brown & Co. make the G-men look like feces. Now, I really like watching the Colts and Peyton Manning is probably the NFL player I enjoy watching play the most, but watching the Giants getting destroyed tonight made me feel sick and I'd decided I'd had enough.
Jonezy Posted 20 September 2010 Posted 20 September 2010 Patriots defense made Sanchez look like Peyton Manning and paid for it. Jets came to play and Pats weren't ready for it - disappointing. Only comfort was Moss' super TD against Revis island. Credits to Jets though, they played and executed extremely well.

lildave3 Posted 20 September 2010 Posted 20 September 2010 Yeah I enjoyed watching the Jets game. And Chargers won

No way - the Jets won, the missus made me turn it off at the half. Didn't see the Jets winning that, especially considering the offensive line was looking durge early on.
