JoeyB Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 Woah, just sat for 10 mins reading this whole thread. and i know tubes is bad but he aint that bad eh , he's a sound guy and the police were wrong really wrong, and thats the first time i have ever know something that bad to happen. being a copper's son, i kinda have to respect the police, and round here they are good so i aint got any quarrels, but what happened to tubes is bad.
Bert Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 Don't you realise people do things irrational when they are angered, espcially unessarily angered. If I'd been arrested, I'd find it quite hard to stay calm. When I was ejected from Preston away last year, it was similar. I was told I'd be out if I continued to throw anything (When I hadn't thrown anything in the first place & tried to explain this). I was angered and told the steward to "Check his ****ing CCTV", looking back, I should have just walked away from him, but it's hard to do in the momen, Espcially if your red-blooded, but you probably wouldn't know anything about that eh? Especially when you have a known hatred for stewards. That was funny watching you swing your scarf around when we scored.
Uncle Albert Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 But what would we do with all the leftover brains? Donate them to the Museum of History? Something worthwhile gets my vote.
Floating Fox Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 Donate them to the Museum of History? Something worthwhile gets my vote. Are they having a new science of gays section then?
Uncle Albert Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 Are they having a new science of gays section then? You no it my man.
Simi Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 FAO Tubes mainly, just to back up what I said earlier in the thread. This was posted by a Man United fan on Standupsitdown today. Some good news from today. My mate, Marcus Webster was found guilty of either drunk and disorderly or public order (the policewoman couldn't make up her mind) last april. He appealed which was ajourned in july so he was in court today. I was one of his four witnesses, supposed to be giving evidence. But we were hanging around until about half 10 this morning when we were told the had prosecution dropped the charges after seeing the character witnesses that we had. (none of us had, had any convictions/clean driving licences etc) The only bit of evidence the prosecution had was the word of the policewoman who arrested him, so they thought it was ridiculous going ahead with it after reading all the evidence. So really pleased, although it was an absolute joke it got this far in the first place. My mate also today showed me the statement made by the policewoman. It was about a page long and full of absolute bollocks. He's gone through and circled bits of it and wrote what actually really happened. Prime example of what the Police try to get away with, but often fail with when people challenge them. Best of luck mate if you're still chasing it.
Guest Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 I was reliably informed that the police are, and I quote, "expert witnesses".
Matt Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 Police claimed they had CCTV footage of my mates when they got arrested. When asked to show the footage, they failed to come up with the good put it that way. fooking bullshitting twats.
misiuj Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 it's funny reading all the posts on here - giving the police a hard time - I reckon they'd have better things to do with their lives than having to go to a football match and babysit f@ckwit fans who really should just be let loose on each other. it's common sense ppl

The police are ridiculous and i really do agree that they try to spark reactions, they like a ruck just as much as some of the hooligans. To the people who argue we should all just sit down and be quiet, what the hell is wrong with you? When did football become such a snobby sport its depressing it really is.
JoeyB Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 TO be honest i have never had any trouble with the police, i know i dont go to as many away games as people, but whenever i do, they seem to be decent and friendly. I know what tubes happened to tubes was bad, and shouldn't of happened, but its bad to tarnish all policeman with what a small minority do wrong.

At the Walkers the Police in general are ok. however there are some in their ranks who believe that the fans who choose to be near away fans are there for 1 reason and that is to create trouble. Yes there are some who wish it was 1988 but the vast majority I would say well over 95% in L&K realise that football is there for for entertainment not fighting. Those who choose to stay after a game for Millwall fans deserve everything they get from the fuzz! those who stand & sing do not deserve to get abused by civil servants who have issuses and wish to grind their axes on a Saturday afternoon, by attacking an easy target with a poor community image.

My dad was seriously on about fighting it last time I spoke to him (sunday) so I doubt that has changed, I think its just a matter of finding the time. He said his chat with Lisa at Orient has made him feel a little bit easier about taking it further so he has perhaps done it this week, ill keep everyone up to date with the goings on.
