Ric Flair Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 I bet the two Ex-International Bruno's are delighted by the call up to the prestigious Westerby Cup.
davieG Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 I bet the two Ex-International Bruno's are delighted by the call up to the prestigious Westerby Cup. I'm betting the pay provides some comfort and compensation.

The term "first team squad members" is being used loosely! It's really an under 22 reserves team with Henderson and N'Gotty presumably acting as Levi's minders. Anyway, I don't think I can get because my car's not back from it's service yet. But at least it'll be a run out for everyone. City lost by two clear goals in last season's CWC match against Hinckley United which kind of set the scene for the season to come. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Not a weak squad in honesty.
Thracian Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Not a weak squad in honesty. In some ways not but I still wouldn't want to be the goalkeeper behind that defence. There, that should guarantee a clean sheet!
Thracian Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 And a clean sheet it was. Five-nil to us. don't know the scorers but apparently Berner looked a class apart at that level. And Oadby had a man sent off in the first half.
Corky Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 And a clean sheet it was. Five-nil to us. don't know the scorers but apparently Berner looked a class apart at that level. And Oadby had a man sent off in the first half. Oh yes, our name is on the Cup!!
davieG Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Foxes Blast Five Past Oadby Posted on: Tue 16 Sep 2008 Leicester City recaptured the Westerby Cup Winners' Cup when they completed a 5-0 victory over Oadby Town at Holmes Park, Whetstone on Tuesday night. Reserve team boss Gerry Taggart fielded a side containing a mixture youth and experience on the evening - including first team squad members Bruno N'Gotty, Jonny Hayes, Levi Porter, Paul Henderson and recent capture Bruno Berner. Goals from Eric Odhiambo, Levi Porter, Ricky Sappleton, Ryan Beswick and Billy McKay secured a comfortable win on the evening - although Oadby's plight was not helped when they had a man send off midway through the first half. Speaking after the game, Taggart said: "It was a very good workout for the lads. They retained their shape and discipline throughout the contest and fully deserved the victory. "It was good to see Bruno Berner out there. It's been a long road for him to fitness and he did well for the hour that he was on the pitch." An exclusive audio interview will be available with new man Berner will be available on Leicester City World from 10am tomorrow (Wednesday). City: Henderson, Magunda, N'Gotty (Garner 51), Rowe-Turner, Berner (Burns 62), Hayes, Cox, Beswick, Porter (McKay 70), Sappleton (C King 62), Odhiambo.

And Oadby had a man sent off in the first half. I should bloody hope the player we've just signed on a three year contract looks a class above against Oadby Town!
knowitall Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 I'm betting the pay provides some comfort and compensation. Oh this is sooooooooooooo true.
Thracian Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 The chosen man scored then. Again! Not sure if you mean Porter, Beswick or McKay though. :D
