Phube Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 Why oh why have she give Labour £1Million...?? As much as I love her books... the woman herself... I give up!
Zingari Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 it's in recognition of labour's record on child poverty , now they can afford to buy her books she ain't stupid
Phube Posted 20 September 2008 Author Posted 20 September 2008 it's in recognition of labour's record on child poverty , now they can afford to buy her books she ain't stupid She'd be better off (and the children would be) if she just gave every child in Britain a tenner!
Webbo Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 it's in recognition of labour's record on child poverty , now they can afford to buy her books she ain't stupid Unfortunately for her thanks to Labours education policies none of the kids can read anyway.
Zingari Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 Unfortunately for her thanks to Labours education policies none of the kids can read anyway. sorry , i've been too concerned about house prices and non existant crime to have realised what was happening in our schools but i know they all carry knives and steal anything to fund their drug habits
Ultra Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 Unfortunately for her thanks to Labours education policies none of the kids can read anyway. Education results are at record levels. And it's good to know Ms Rowling, who spent years in poverty as a single parent before writing the Harry Potter books, hasn't forgotten how dire things were before Labour took office.
Fox You Forest Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 She'd be better off (and the children would be) if she just gave every child in Britain a tenner! Do you realize how much that would cost. I'd poke it.
Daggers Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 Why oh why have she give Labour £1Million...?? Maybe it will be used to improve literacy levels in Health Service employees.
lildave3 Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 Why doesn't she just give it directly to a charity to do with child poverty?
lookwhaticando Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 Why doesn't she just give it directly to a charity to do with child poverty? That's no way to buy influence.
Phube Posted 21 September 2008 Author Posted 21 September 2008 Maybe it will be used to improve literacy levels in Health Service employees. I was too upset to write properly...

You keep telling yourself that.

That is complete cock. Making exams easier and bribing kids to stay on at school is not progress.
Daggers Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 Education results are at record levels. Is that the true measure of the state of education under Gordon Brown? Briefly, the answer is 'no'.

I'm not a party political person but..... Almost half of England's schools are not teaching mathematics well enough, putting too much emphasis on "teaching to the test", inspectors have said. Zingari Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 cynical hat on it's probably some sort of tax dodge
lookwhaticando Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 cynical hat on it's probably some sort of tax dodge Any other hats you'd like to talk through?
morris1234 Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 however cynical this may be at least she has given some money out, it really annoys me when you see these celebs on children in need and when they go onto these game shows to win money for charity when they could easily give away much more out of their own tight pockets!!! 'please pledge as much as you can' i will if you will you tax dodging, overpaid TW*T! sorry got a bit carried away! what is the thread about again???
Maybes Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 Giving a million pounds to labour...pfft, she may aswell pissed the money up the wall!!

As a parent and a school governor I can confirm that you are quite obviously a Labour supporter.
