Pearson hopeful over strike duo

Teamtalk

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson is hoping to have strike duo DJ Campbell and Paul Dickov available for the away trip to Colchester on Tuesday.

Campbell has been suffering from the after-effects of a stomach bug, while Dickov has had a niggly back problem and both are pushing to be fit.

However Pearson could choose to stick with the same starting XI that beat Hartlepool 1-0 on Saturday.

Top-scorer Matty Fryatt could once again line-up alongside Steve Howard in a strike force that has notched up an impressive eight goals in seven league outings.

Goalkeeper David Martin was given the number one shirt against Pools ahead of Paul Henderson and should retain his place.

Winger Max Gradel is likely to be out once again with an ankle injury picked up in the clash againt Leyton Orient on September 20, meaning Nicky Adams should start.

Defensive duo Patrick Kisnorbo (knee) and Joe Mattock (ankle), midfielder Stephen Clemence (ankle) and striker Ashley Chambers (leg) all remain sidelined.

Is he going to be back for the Colchester game?

This nothing about him being injured or back from injury on the team news.

We need him, come on Max :chant:

We only need him if he decides to play well, there already have been a number of occasions where Gradel has simply flattered to deceive. I hope Pearson sticks with Adams, we can do without Gradel's petulance for a few games.

I've not seen him play since the Tranmere game so i wouldn't know about his petulance :P.

Adams looked lost on the pitch on Saturday on occasions, although got some good crosses in, but i don't really rate him at all.

Compared to super Lloyd Dyer Adams is nothing.

When I say petulance I really mean play-acting, which really gets on my nerves.

As for Adams, he doesn't have Gradel's flair and technical ability but I personally trust him more as far as commitment, atm for me he has proved a more reliable option.

I agree, wouldn't do Gradel any harm to watch a game or two from the bench when he's fit. Having the mentality that he has to earn his place rather than walk into the team when he's fit is a much better one to have.

Plus he's been shit for a long time. He's needs to sit on the bench and learn to cross the ball in training before he gets a proper sustained run out in the first team

Leave college, come home. Pick up mate and bro. M1, M25. Find a parking place. Go to ground.

Come on Leicester just go top please.

This is what dreams are made of.

To be fair so does Lloyd and Nicky as well. None of them can cross at all. At least Gradel has a few assists this season from crosses. All 3 of them need a lot of work done on their delivery. But that's why they are playing at a League One club and not higher up.

I agree, Gradel should be on the bench for a few games though and bought on to step up his performances again. Won't do him any harm.

I hope he's fit tonight, Colchester have never played agaimst him. That's when he's at his most dangerous.

fook it, I forgot we were playing this game tonight. Especially bearing in mind that I could have worked security. Really wish I hadn't turned it down now. Typical that my boss thought it was Colchester vs. Bristol Rovers...
