Rich Fox Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I know its been said before but im getting really bored with some of our songs we dont seem to have one song that is just a Leicester song apart from when your smiling. Everyone blames the walkers stadium for the lack of atmosphere. One of the best songs ive heard in ages is Liverpools Torres song which goes His armband proves he was a red torres torres Youll never walk alone it says torres torres We bought the lad from sunny spain He gets the ball and scores again Fernando torres liverpools no 9 Dont suppose we could do our own version of this song, if not we need something because im sick of leicester leicester leicester !

I think using everyone elses tunes isn't really going to cut it for much longer, I've been trying to find a tune lately and the only one I could come across was Jungle Book tune and "You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals" I thought they could be adapated. So far nothing.

Tis a great song, United and Liverpool are years ahead of everyone else.
lildave3 Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I didnt mean we should just copy the torres song just pointing out for anyone who dont know the words what a great song this is and its the sort of song we need because its so catchy. Yeah, but United had the tune first
C-man Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Yeah, but United had the tune first For John O'Shea, so it doesn't count I had a go at a Kerrea Gilbert version but it's got too many words for the average Leicester fan for it to catch on! Although the Maxi Gradel chant has done pretty well despite his poor performances of late. One tune I can't get out of my head at the moment is Half in Love With Elizabeth by the Mystery Jets. If you skip to 2.25 on the video, the lyrics are 'And he's half in love with Elizabeth and he's half in love with you' followed by the la la la la la etc bit. Thought we could adapt it to 'And we're half in love with our Tunchev, and we're half in love with Bluesss' followed by the la la la la la etc bit. It's original, but quite gay.
mega2kn1 Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 To the song grand old duke of york Oh grand old nigel pearson He had eleven men he marched them up to the top of the league to the championship again Also pinching walsalls lyrics but oh well all the lads and lasses and all the smiling faces going down to filbert way to see the mighty foxes

I can just see the kop launching as one into the Half in Love with Elizabeth by the Mystery Jets
CosbehFox Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Ask that random old bloke who at away games this season starts random City songs from the 60s and 70s all on his own. He's got some beauties.
Dan Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 The team who always got me for being the song kings were Portsmouth. Play Up Pompey is quality, and the one where they go na naaaa,na naaaa,na na na na naaaa na na,naaaa na na na,na na,na na,na naaaa,na naaaa etc if u know which I mean
Fosse Boy Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I'm telling you, The Specials' version of Guns of Navarrone could be awesome But seriously, I'd really like to see some older ones revived, and I think we should sing WYS more often and with a bit more gusto, it is our song after all...

Guns of Navarrone is quality
Simi Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 During pre-season there were some good ones, but I think we lack someone to lead them off. At Fulham we managed to get the Max Gradel one going but it has to be the right moment, home games are not that time. I'm led to believe that in the old Kop we had some guy who would start all the chants off.

Lee Jobber started them off at Hillsborough last season, that was quite funny and it worked. But yes, it'll never work at the Walkers.

Away games are where there more likely to take off, Brighton could be a possibility. Oh Nottingham are you listening needs to be sung.

Yeah that's my fault, I've been meaning to do that for ages. Couldn't be a more perfect time than at the moment really.

Fcuk scousers and their shitty songs! We have Du du du du matty fryatt and thats all we fcuking need!!!!
Tommeh Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 It's the same for all clubs fans these days, just copying the tunes of United's and replacing the words, exactly what Walsall did on Tuesday night, and we did with Max Gradel. The Mancs are so far ahead of everyone else its unreal, scousers are decent aswell. Put it like this we're not the only club. But yeah places like Brighton and other nights time aways will be the place to get new ones started. Jobber managed to do the Tunchev one at home from his drum position and the Lloyd Dyer song was really started at Stockport which was great.
20mj08 Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 agreed but now barry is back .... number 1 is barry hayles ect on a more serious point its difficult at home games as only foxestalkers know the lyrics if a new one is made up

Who the f**k are Leeds United? Who the f**k are Leeds United? Who the f**k are Leeds United? And the Blues go marching on, on on!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 The key is keeping it simple and having a few of us all stood together (need around 20 really at least, like at Sheff Utd last season and Stockport this season). We should all launch into Guns of Navarone at some point definitely.

Love the specials they are my all time favourite band, and guns of navarone is awesome but it gave me an idea maybe the boys in L1 should try another ska band Lip up fatty by Bad Manners its catchy and you could sing it at jobber!
